4L is active for take-offs for AI not heavier than 321/739, 4L for landings and t/o for heavier birds, 15 for both t/o and landings.

Looking at the runway layout for KBOS every runway end is accessible so I don’t see the need to close any end for either takeoff or landing as is needed for 05R at EGCC.

Having said that 04L/22R would be best for takeoff and 04R/22L best for landings in P3D to help keep traffic moving. P3D knows nothing about weight restrictions of course.

Ray,

Let me put it this way - I want my KBOS AI flow on more realistic level than just merely a pair of 4/22

Of course it does. Since FS2004 times.

I'm confused about how this runway ends thing works. I'm trying to configure EGCC Manchester's two runways for operation. This is what I had set...

05L/23R. Primary/Secondary. TO is Yes for both; Landing is Yes for both.

05R/23L. Primary/Secondary. TO for 05R is No. TO for 23L is Yes. Landing for 05R is No. Landing for 23L is No.

What is happening when that modified AFD is used is aircraft are landing and departing on 23R. But with winds from the east they should be departing on 05L and landing on 05L.

The rules are being ignored or I have things setup wrong. In order to get them using 05L I have to enable 05R for landing. It seems you cannot have one runway end for take-off only and the other end closed for landing and take-off.

The reason I wanted 05R closing for landing is because the first exit taxiway is 8000ft along a 10,000ft runway so the next landing aircraft invariably has to perform a go-around as the previous one has not exited the runway.

Probably unique to Manchester but unless there's a way to get landing aircraft to taxi at a decent speed I have no option but to leave 05R open for landings with the downside of go-arounds. Anyone got a solution to this?

Hi Ray,

To make it compatible with HF2 you need to set it to:
RW05R Takeoff: No   Landing: Yes
RW23L Takeoff: Yes   Landing: No

RW05L Takeoff: Yes  Landing: No
RW23R Takeoff: No   Landing: Yes

Your desired configuration (closing of 05R) will not work with HF2. But you can try to make the runway shorter in AFCAD, which allows aircraft to land closer to the exit.

Best,
Christoph

I've entered 3000ft for the runway displacement on 05R for UK2000 EGCC Manchester. That seems to work well. Most smaller aircraft exit at the first taxiway with larger ones exiting at the next or the last.

Yes, it's a bit weird seeing aircraft land nearly half-way along a 10,000ft runway but until Ai get more intelligence this is as good as we can get it.

Four inbounds all to 05R and no go-arounds. 👍 Thanks for the tip @Wolkenschreck  You can ignore my PM.
