The code needs to be rewritten from the bottom up. I'll purchase FSX because I always have to have the latest in the series. But after following this thing since my Commodore 64 days I'm underwhelmed and frustrated that the system is yet again going to suck the life blood out of my better than average system.I'm more excited about HD-DVD and will be spending money on that rather than addons that further degrade the fps of an already bloated code.

I have no doubt that you believe what you say. But I don't. Before you hit me with your long history with flight simulation I'll point out that I started with A2-FS1 from SubLogic in '81. I would agree that FS hasn't always been the best sim in town (meaning world) but ProPilot never was. Oh it was lots of fun in it's day... I loved the detail of the panels for the time and it was one of the earliest to take advantage of 3D hardware... but never was the best. Perhapes could have been but we will never know.But FS pulled back into the lead with FS02 and FS04 is miles ahead of anything else. FSX will be great once our hardware catches up. :)

No SK, it's the most non-secure OS because it is the most popular, therefore there is much more impact by would-be hackers. Why bother *breaking in* to Linux? Or OSX for that matter? Not enough consequense to bother spending the effort to vandalize these two that have such a minor piece of the OS pie.

I have been out of the simming world for some time and downloaded the demo of FSX. I have to say that there is some real progress made over FS2K2 with this sim. My machine was kept up to date during my absence and the demo ran very well, with some very eye-catching additions that I didn't expect. I love the water and I love the scenery. I will be buying this sim as soon as it's available!

Ridiculous!Ive used the FS since the first version.In =each= version right up until the current one, Ive found enoough improvement to warrent buying it. Ive even waited until trying the next version on a friends computer, before buying it. FSX, will probably mean enough of a difference for me to buy it.

I always thought "KISS" meant: "Keep it simple, stupid" :-)

THIS WAS ATC TRAINING in Canada, 1973....LOL( then got my first FS in 1984.)
