September 8, 200619 yr Ah well!Back to topic.Feel's kinda lame to have the GPS but without being able to use it!What of the other addon planes have an *active* GPS?I'm sure I have the planes, or they are cheaper at least :)Best of Regards,Christer Fredholm
September 8, 200619 yr Check this one out:KLN 90B from FS2X (http://www.fs2x.com/)For $11 you get a very nice redition of the KLN unit. I have it in a few VCs. It looks and works great. This only thing I don't like is I can't program a route with waypoints on the unit as I can on RXP. But other than that, it's one very complete product. JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI
September 8, 200619 yr Good choice, as is Friendly Panels:http://www.friendlypanels.arrakis.es/index.htmThe one thing you will have to deal with in the 206 is the stock Nav-O-Matic. It does not have a 'NAV' feature if you want to fly per a GPS/FS generated flight plan, but can only be used to hold heading, and use the GPS as a guide. Now, that said, I originally swapped my Nav-O-Matic with one the default FS Bendix units, and used it for a while. I now have the RXP STEC 55X in its place. To make this work you have to change the aircraft.cfg, and also remember that there isn't a NAV/VLOC switch in the default 206, If I remember correctly, as the Nav-O does not support it.EDIT: Just checked, and the 206 version of the Nav-O-Matic does indeed have a VAV hold, but ther issue of a NAV/GPS switch still could be an issue if you want to 'by GPS'. But, there are ways around this.
September 8, 200619 yr Wow! You really did a lot of work to your 206. Glad it turns out great. I chose the aeroworx B200 to put in a lot of mods since I think that plane is out right awsome. RXP gauges really add A LOT to a plane! JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI
September 8, 200619 yr Another vote for the Realair SF260. This is my go to plane when exploring new sceneries. Ultra smooth gauges and fps overall and has very good climbing power and speed for a single. Also as mentioned above has great visibility.Regards, Carlos
September 8, 200619 yr Author >It won't be cheap ;)>>1)The RXP Garmin 430 pakage + the Pro add-on package (so you>can use two) ($30+$25)>2) The Sandel 3308 ($25)>3) The Flight Line 'T' package ($20)>4) The Flight Line 'N' package ($20)>>So that panel the way I have it laid out would be $120.00>>But, you can use them in a buch of other aircraft as well.>It's finally happened. It was only a matter of time... a simmer pimped their ride. ;)
September 9, 200619 yr Quick post before I go to sleep (01:55 AM)!I took a look at the Baron 58 from DreamFleet.Since the Beech A36 is beautiful, I think I might give the Baron 58 a chance. So, give me your opinions about the Baron 58 as my GA for the journey? It has everything I'll *ever* need:+ Low wing profile = SIGHTSEEING+ Beautiful VA = Nice for TRACK IR4 PRO+ 2 engines = Fast, and still beautiful!+ The fuselage is close to the A36 in size = VFR+ RXP GPS! *bling bling* :DBest of Regards,Christer Fredholm
September 9, 200619 yr If sight seeing is a factor then a low wing configuration would actually be a negative characteristic, not a positive one.Im curious about the B58 though as i already own the Bonanza...what can I expect as far as cruise speeds below 10,000 feet. Im trying to figure out which would be faster...the B58 or the Columbia 400 (which cruises around 180-190 indicated below 10k)Dave Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
September 9, 200619 yr >It's finally happened. It was only a matter of time... a>simmer pimped their ride. ;)LOL.....You should see my Piper Cherokee :D
September 9, 200619 yr I think you would find them similar at 10,000.The Columbia really shines at above 200 FL. Typically 215 TAS. IAS....shoot, I've rarely paid attention, but I would say about 146-156 IAS : 215 +/- TAS.25,000 is the ceiling for the Columbia, but it gets there very very quickly thanks to the twin-turbo's (albeit tough to model in FS, ES has done a really nice job). In addition, the full Avidyne glass cockpit is very nice as well.A 'photo':http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/155943.jpg
September 9, 200619 yr I woulda went with the Wright Flyer, but hey, thats just me :DQuite a change from the Cessna's....enjoy yourself, and get some nice scenery mods before you take-off. FS Genisis mesh, perhaps Ultimate Terrain Europe, GE Pro....and if you head up to Scandinavia, there are some really nice free sceneries for the area. Norway has to be one of the best places to fly in FS with the 'right' add-ons. Incredible stuff.
September 9, 200619 yr One of my fav route is... Start from airport VNKT and tune into VOR 112.3 track outbound 096 Radial climb to atleast 13,500feet for 69.5 on the DME. look towards your left. You would see a Valley, turn into it and start descending to 9,300 feet (watch your speed)... and right there 2-3 miles after you've turned into that valley, you would see Lukla. (If you have the Lukla scenery, its awesome).. Now land there.Flying this route with the Caranado's 206 is good.... And then comeback the same way.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
September 9, 200619 yr an' - bein' a redneck an' all - ah woulda been doin' the trip in mah ol' B25 "Briefin' Time". She's got the power, the range, the speed, and a portable potty. An' it has "attitude". Nothin' like the sound o' them big radials on take-off! i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

Ultra smooth gauges and fps>overall and has very good climbing power and speed for a>single. Also as mentioned above has great visibility.>Yes, I'd go for the SF260 too, along with the stock FS2004 hand-held moving map GPS, if I didn't want to purchase a different GPS add-on. It pops onto the screen in a seperate window, using an F key. I do a lot of mountain flying, and this is what I use. Just set the heading bug for the A/P to follow the GPS track when you get tired of hand flying. You can't beat the sliding canopy for excellent all around views, and the feel of flight! L.Adamson
