Ground Texture Issues After Upgrade to HF2

Recommended Posts

Hello, this is what I'm seeing for ground textures after my upgrade to HF2:

This update was the first time since my initial install of P3Dv4 that I updated all three parts (client, scenery and content).  I use UTX for vector data and ORBX Global Textures and LC.

After doing the update, I ran the UTX setup tools to reinitialize them, and then went into ORBX central and did a verify files for GLobal and all of the LC addons.  I'm guessing this is an issue related to either ORBX global or LC...did I miss a step?

Thanks,

Dave

Yep. Every time there's a update of P3d4, ORBX Base textures randomly decide to display nighttime versions during the day. Uninstall ORBX Global Base and reinstall it. Verifying usually doesn't work. At least it doesn't work for me.

Ok thanks for the quick response Jay, I’ll do a full install/reinstall.

Edit: I didn’t see an uninstall option for orbx global base inside orbx central, though it’s there for the LC addons.  How do I uninstall global base?

Recently had the same issue with FSX and it was scenery layer issue.  I’m not sure how P3D works but I’m assuming it is similar. My problem was around the coast. Had to rearrange the layers and it cleared up.

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.

I had the same issue.  In addition to verifying I also had to verify the libraries within orbx central.  That brought it back to normal

For me the library thing was the answer.

Maybe delete the library and let Orbx re-install it.

If you have not installed Orbx Central, V20, that could be your solution. The ORBX people are well aware of the conflicts between their scenery and the new HF2  for P3D. I also suggest you look at the ORBX forums for more on this and similar issues. It is an excellent resource.

Thanks everyone, verifying the libraries was the final fix.

This ^^^^

However you need to uninstall and reinstall the specific Landclass this is effecting.  However, there’s usually several files that refuse to delete which won’t rectify the issue unless you do the uninstall reinstall dance several times or manually delete the leftover files before reinstalling...

Ive posted this issue and fix several times on ORBX forums and the mods got word not allowed at me for spamming...

Would be nice if Orbx decided to squash this bug for good!
