FSX:SE Sky Lease Cargo - Miami (KMIA) to Santiago (SCEL)

Here she is in rainy Miami (it happens now and again ), waiting to depart early the next morning.

 

Taxiing out - at least our departure runway is just to the left.

 

However, note that you should always use a longer runway if one is available! Made it though..

Out over the Caribbean..

 

Somewhat later in the journey, over the vast, relatively flat South American continent (flat compared the Andes!)

 

Our route means that we will cross over the Andes SSW and fly down the west coast of Chile to reach Santiago.

 

Descending for an almost straight in approach to RWY17L

 

Fairly straight on the runway too! 😄

 

Just like finding a parking spot at the (empty!) mall. 

 

Shutdown and offload.

How the heck did you get the AP, prof to work?  When I engage it, the aircraft drops like a rock; it's a known issue they didn't bother to fix in 2.0....

Ed, darn it! I was hoping to sneak past without you noticing...  I didn't want to remind you about getting on with the paintjob..

Matt. I didn't use prof. I dialled in the altitude and the vertical speed then clicked the button in. I'll have to detail the exact procedure as sometimes it resets to the current altitude - might have to right click first.  This worked for me in a similar fashion in V2.

I don't program the FMC as yet. I just load in the plan via FSX:SE (created in onlineflightplanner). I've not tried to create a plan from scratch. I did try once, but the magenta line when straight from airport to airport and then back to a waypoint I inserted...
