Right, so my PC spec is the following -

Manufacturer - ASUStek COMPUTER INC.

Model - ASUS Desktop PC M51BC Series

Processor - AMD FX(tm)-8300 Eight-Core Processor  3.30GHz

Installed Memory (RAM) - 12.0GB

System Type - 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

and the screen resolution is - 1920 x 1080 which is the recommended.

Hope that's what you need.

I'm sure Chris will reply when able but a couple of things to point out. The AMD processor is six years old so performance is limited. You don't list what graphics card you use but unless it's an Nvidia then again, perfomance will be limited. This is born out with your frame rates.

The only way to boost performance is by buying a faster PC (Intel and Nvidia) or turning your sliders down. This link may help...

We need to know what graphics card is in your PC, Oliver. As Ray has stated, P3D performance with that AMD processor @ 3.3Ghz will be limited.

Looks like MK releases buggy products and then hopes for users to fix them. I was planning to buy their Lisbon scenery. Is that bugfree?

MK Studios (apparently) corrected the runway 10/28 issue with version 1.01, so they did not expect the end user to fix the problem. It just so happens that a few of us did, simply because we knew how to do it with Airport Design Editor. As for the parking spots, there could be a reason why they decided not to include some of them (although I am not really sure what that would be).

Chris, then they must have broken it again with 1.02 because the Ai would not line up on 28. They just taxied to the holding point and never moved.

I've just completed a flight back to Manchester. The PBR textures giving a wet taxiway are brilliant. Given Ireland's weather they should be visible most of the year! 😁

That is very strange, Ray. I hope that someone from MK Studios reads this thread, because a simple and easily correctable issue like that really needs to be sorted out.

OK, thanks. Looks like I need to go PC shopping! 🙂

Before you do ask questions in the hardware forum if you need advice. https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/326-mobo-ram-cpu-hdd-ssd-desktops-laptops/

You haven't disclosed your location in your profile or signature which can be helpful at times like this. If you're UK based consider buying from Chillblast as they have an excellent reputation and have PCs designed for use with flight sim. https://www.chillblast.com/flightsimpcs

Also have a budget in mind. The more you spend in general the better the performance. In a PMDG737 taxiing at Dublin my fps remained in the 30s. My Chillblast PC is shown in my sig.

Thanks Ray, I am in the UK so will have a look at that

@Flyer1000, ah good. Chillblast can also customise a PC so if you prefer a different make of RAM they can handle that. Think too about monitor resolution. UHD looks very good but requires a beefier card.

It might be worth hanging on for a few months as the Nvidia 3000 cards may well arrive in the summer. And by then the requirements for MFS might be published. I suspect 32Gb RAM will be beneficial rather than 16. Reasoning for that was the initial batch of alpha testers had to have 32Gb RAM. That may change when released of course but adding RAM later can be problematic.

@Flyer1000probably needs to raise a topic in the Hardware forum at the appropriate time. No more PC chat from me now.

I just wanted to comment on the uninstall / reinstall process for MK-Studio Dublin. I downloaded v1.10 to replace the earlier one. But, there's no uninstaller and the readme notes don't say how to uninstall. Not great.

So I deleted the entry in Add-on Organiser and then deleted the Dublin folder under Ecosystem\MKSTUDIOS. Hardly user friendly. The new version is now installed but they really need to look at the guidance they offer for users.

There is a problem with the supplied AFD. I have checked this twice now so I'm sure it's a valid problem. Some aircraft will lineup on 28 but not take-off. Example is Aer Lingus RJ85 departing around 11:28. Twice using the supplied AFD it lined up on 28 but the status stayed as Takeoff 1. It never took off and was eventually deleted by P3D.

I swapped the AFD for the one supplied over at AIG and no such problems. All aircraft (including the RJ85) line up and depart. There must be a minor difference in the AFDs but I'm not wasting time looking for it. If you want the AIG one you can get it here.
