MK Studios DUBLIN Released

Are you saying that version 1.10 specifically does not have the option to uninstall? I have version 1.02 installed (or whatever the version was before 1.10), and it has an option to uninstall via Control Panel.

Agghh! My mistake. There was an uninstaller. I missed it. Sorry.

I just wanted to comment on the uninstall / reinstall process for MK-Studio Dublin. I downloaded v1.10 to replace the earlier one. But, there's no uninstaller and the readme notes don't say how to uninstall. Not great.

So I deleted the entry in Add-on Organiser and then deleted the Dublin folder under Ecosystem\MKSTUDIOS. Hardly user friendly. The new version is now installed but they really need to look at the guidance they offer for users.

There is a problem with the supplied AFD. I have checked this twice now so I'm sure it's a valid problem. Some aircraft will lineup on 28 but not take-off. Example is Aer Lingus RJ85 departing around 11:28. Twice using the supplied AFD it lined up on 28 but the status stayed as Takeoff 1. It never took off and was eventually deleted by P3D.

I swapped the AFD for the one supplied over at AIG and no such problems. All aircraft (including the RJ85) line up and depart. There must be a minor difference in the AFDs but I'm not wasting time looking for it. If you want the AIG one you can get it here.

I have to admit I've encountered this behavior of AI traffic in other 3rd party scenery (FSDT for example). What causes this exactly?

I don't know, sorry. Clearly a small difference in the way the AFD for the runway is designed. You would have to compare the two and see if you can see the differences.

I am really surprised that they still have a problem with departures on runway 28. Several users (myself included) corrected that little problem on our own PCs not long after version 1.00 was released, and the AIG one is freely available.

Help Please.

Dublin scenery MK Studios installed  in Prepar3d V4 with no problems.

I got an email from simMarket this morning telling me a new release is available.

I've just installed it and now on the bridges I have the big X.

Any body else got this problem and do you have a fix?

waiting in anticipation

Looks like changes have been made to SODE objects. They did have conflicts between EIDW and LPPT (at least) with objects having the same name and that apparently is no longer allowed from SODE version "XXX" onwards (not sure which one).

Don't quote me on that, but there were definitely issues which might have been fixed now and causing problems with a failed/incomplete uninstall of previous versions?

So for those that have the new version 1.10, I understand that MKS put in the progress on the construction of the new runway, correct? I was wondering if any of you could show what this looks like on approach or departure, because the shots they had on their Facebook did not look particularly convincing to me, to the point that I was considering sticking with v1.02.

Interesting you should mention that because I am new to MKS Dublin and installed it last night because the v5 installer just became available.  I was going to post a screenshot later after work of that construction to ask if what I was seeing was right, because it looked to me like another scenery was bleeding through - there are some misaligned runway textures that just go over roads on the photoscenery background and don't blend particularly well with the existing textures or construction background. I will post a shot a little later today...since it is a new v5 install, the only other scenery it could be conflicting with is default.

I take it back, they're not misaligned. Upon further inspection, they're okay, but there are some oddities when looking closer. The new runway textures were added without updating the photo background, so it just looks a little odd. Not a big deal overall.

In the last one you can see the boundary fence appears now unscathed by the construction and is simply on top of the new runway. We're really into deep nitpicking here, though, nothing I'm in any way worried about.

Thanks for posting those, very helpful! See, I just don't like the look of it. It's as if they just plopped down a polygon on there and gave it some generic, highly repetitive texture. If the airport looks amazingly realistic, this 'new runway' immediately kicks me straight back into my living room. I'm honestly quite disappointed with this... Is there a way to get rid of it, or is it part of the ground poly?

Just browsing the Scenery folder, I do not see an obvious bgl file for just the new runway construction textures to disable.

Thank you for letting us know about this. I agree with Benjamin that it does not look very realistic, so I will be making sure that I do not upgrade from my existing version. Any updates like this need to be done carefully, otherwise they can look very generic and unconvincing.
