How to move Custom AI Models outside the Sim

Recommended Posts

Follow these steps:

  • Create a folder on your preferred drive, for this example we will use D:\  but you can use any drive letter.  Create a directory with the name Prepar3D Addons
  • Inside create another folder with the name Custom AI Models
  • Now Move all your customs AI Models to this folder, leaving your default airplanes, etc. inside P3D.
  • Create a folder inside C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons with the name Custom AI Models

  • Create a new file with the name of add-on.xml inside C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Custom AI Models

The content of the add-on.xml should be like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">
    <AddOn.Name>Custom AI Models</AddOn.Name>
    <AddOn.Description>This is my custom AI Models</AddOn.Description>
    <AddOn.Component>
        <Category>SimObjects</Category>
        <Path>D:\Prepar3D Addons\Custom AI Models</Path>
    </AddOn.Component>
 </SimBase.Document>

We recommend using notepad++ to create this file, save the file with encoding UTF-8.

  • Launch P3D, you will be asked if you want to enable this add-on (which is your custom models). Say yes. check your AI models are working as usual and exit P3D.
  • Re-Scan using AI Lights Reborn Professional.

Kind Regards,

Simbol
