Tips or suggestions for new VR owners

Recommended Posts

With the higher resolutions finally getting to where we simmers can actually see things, more are buying into VR (like myself, I ordered a Reverb yesterday). I thought it might be helpful for veterans to share some of their tips and suggestions to VR newbies.

So what are your top 3 tips to learn, do, try, be aware of, don't do, etc.

Thanks for any replies.

Tip #1

Tip #2

VR headsets can be pricey! Maximize your investment (and limit your chances of becoming bored) by using your HMD to also explore the multitude of other experiences available in 3D.

Tip # 3

If you require vision correction of any almost any sort, you will likely need to wear your glasses in the headset, which can be awkward and even dangerous to your investment as you glasses lens, headset lens, or both might get badly scratched if they come into contact with each other.

Something to consider might be a custom prescription lens insert.

For my Rift S, previous experience taught me to order early as the inserts might take a few weeks to arrive. I was fortunate. The Rift and the inserts arrived on the same day, leaving me ready to try out my new toy at maximum efficiency right from the start.

I suspect some people complaining of poor visuals in VR simply didn't know to wear their glasses........

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
