Even at no additional cost: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/48038-flyagi-vegetation-global-trees/ So why the hell should LR need to waste time on this? Yes we do, but you did not read well what we are talking about. We are talking about 3d trees and not a different texture 😉 Examples found in MSFS and DCS, or Il2 Sturmovik or War Thunder etc etc. I think even Prepar3d introduced Speedtrees some time ago. The shadow side of trees should be dark, but instead they have this weird internal glow. If I remember right, that was introduced with the first release of v11.0 and it's never been fixed. If this new product uses the same trees as Orbx TE series, I'll take a look next time I fly in TE Washington to see if this fixes it. But I suspect this is an underlying problem in the XP lighting system. I don't have the Mister X trees or Global scenery (yet) to compare. Yes, that's an engine thing. And Ben already hinted at possible general improvements once the Vulkan port is out of the door. 19 hours ago, france89 said: Yes we do, but you did not read well what we are talking about. Nope, that was absolutely not clear from both your and KBUR's post. "Ugly trees" means anything from textures, models to lighting by the engine. And I'm pretty sure licensing Speedtree would invoke a bit of extra cost. Before saying ugly trees, i also said "3d trees". 🙂 Speedtree is an example and of all those i mentioned it is probably used only by DCS and P3D (partially). It's something they could have always done but as usual, it depends more on their priorities than anything else. There will be always hope.. I like trees and all, but there are much more important things to do for Laminar. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
October 29, 20196 yr Author Today I grabbed the Global TerraFlora XP11 Addon from the Orbx Direct Store. Long story short: This Addon is just fantastic A huge surprise for myself, because I never thought that the positve impact on sceneries would be so good and immersive. Before its purchase I was a big fan of Mister X6's HD Forests , but TerraFlora is far far superior ! And its size is only 36,7 MB unzipped (MisterX's HD Forests is 28.2 MB). But what makes me really wonder is its performance. because I'm running X-Plane on an old machine, I must be careful with the amount of VRAM. So my texture slider is always on medium. but - and thats the biggest surprise for me - the TerraFlora Trees look so much sharper (especially the conifers), and the amount of trees almost doubles (compared to default or MrX6 Trees), but the VRAM stays the same, and no struggeling at al for my system to render these trees ---> I really don't know how the guys of Turbulent or Orbx have done this, but it runs very smoothly and looks so much sharper/better at the same time (respective the vegetation). and because it renders much more and plausible vegetation, the world as a whole looks better and more believable; which can be very crusial for guys like me who are using X-Plane as a helicopter sim mainly. I'm using TerraFlora in combination with Global Earth from Resentium, and it works very well together (what I've seen so far) Last verdict: Highly recommended and probably one of my biggest personal "X-Plane-addon-surprises" in 2019. Cheers, Konrad

Very noticeable e.g. in the mountains -- finally you can see dense conifer trees where they should be, and in the desert dry shrubbery. Another side benefit: If you have purchased a detailed scenery - e.g. in my case Quatam River from Propstrike Studios - with TerraFlora trees the contiguous surroundings of XPlane default scenery look faaaaaaar better now. Because the trees fit way better with the detailed sceneries bought for cash ---> the transitions are significanty more harmonious (compared to default or MisterX6 HD trees). All the best Edited October 30, 20196 yr by KBUR
October 30, 20196 yr I bought it also and I must say it's a great addon, fps friendly, adding a lot about atmosphere. One of the best addon I bought, for sure 🙂 Intel i9 - GPU RTX 3080 - 32 gig RAM HyperX Fury DDR 4
November 4, 20196 yr Author And here comes the next upcoming tree addon for X-Plane 11 , it sounds really interesting: (Edit: its already for purchase available: Global Forests [Vol.1 Europe] ) Quote Calum Martin (fselite.net) A new developer who specialises in geospatial data has come to FSElite to announce their entry into the world of X-Plane. GeoReality Design is proud to announce Global Forests, which installs trees across the world using “never-before-seen technology.” The whole earth has been scanned and analysed to produce an accurate natural forest tree representation (not manually planted trees). The trees are then installed into XPlane11, re-creating the world’s forests in terms of variation, tree density, tree type, and tree height. Global Forests will replace all the default, and any other add-on tree product previously installed. It is a completely independent add-on, with its own set of optimised textures and tree classifications based on real-world data. We have the first screenshots above for you to enjoy. This first volume of the Global Forests series will include data for Europe. North America (Alaska-Canada-U.S.A.) is coming very soon after release. Edited November 4, 20196 yr by KBUR
