Just can't get the hang of this search engine!

Recommended Posts

I'm sure I'm doing something very stupid, but this morning I'm trying to find all Jan Kees Blom's repaints for the A2A North American T-6. But whenever I put "Jan Kees Blom" into the Author field and "T-6" into the Name/description field searching for Flight Simulator X repaints, I get no results. Please help! Many thanks.

Search engines can be difficult sometimes.  I just searched for A2A T6 in Name or description and then the authors name in the author search and got only one hit - https://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=A2A+t6&FileName=&Author=Jan+Kees+Blom&CatID=root

I did not enter any category and this search found a repaint for Prepar3D for the T6.  It may work for FSX too as they are similar platforms and the author might have decided to add it to P3D instead of FSX as not many are using FSX.

Try Google?

He's having a problem with the AVSIM Library but an excellent suggestion.  I just did a Google search for A2A North American T-6 Repaints and got lots of hits.  One was to the AVSIM Library with several repaints for P3D/FSX - https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=martial+feron+texan+a2a&CatID=root&Go=Search

Don't know how much help this will be but it is all of Jan's repaints in the AVSIM Library.

Thanks to you all for your help. I tried Google and it worked best for this particular search.

Shortcut to using Google to search a specific site is in the google address bar type.

site:avsim.com "then space then your search term"

e.g. site:avsim.com T6

This works in any site you wish to search and is good in that it limits the results to the site nominated.

Cheers.
