Microsoft Cloud in France Gets $10 Billion from US Government!

Recommended Posts

I just read a news story about Microsoft receiving a new $10 billion contract from the US government for building cloud computing services. The photo that accompanies the article shows a Microsoft building located in France. Since MSFS 2020 will be running off a Microsoft cloud computer and the sim is being developed in France, this huge inflow of money is definitely good news. I just hope they gave Lionel the entire $10 billion up front and in cash.

Let's wait until all the law suits are settled before we try to use this service.

Yup. Amazon might be feeling a certain sort of way about this.

For..... reasons.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Highly doubt that they will locate those critical defense infrastructures outside of US. Even less will they allow their resources to be diverted to entertainment.

There you go, through some more millions at the simulator for VR, seasons and shaders.  And why not, rodents too.  Make MSFS great again.

I don't think MS servers will go down anytime soon, at least for the next 10 years.

Happy flying everyone !

That is a nice photo of the new building in France, but there's nothing to link that building with the new cloud server they will be developing for the U.S. Government.

You could look at this in two ways more investment in the cloud network around the world good for gaming (flight sim). or a few years from now someone at the top decides defence and corporate cloud infrastructure is the way to go gaming not important, sadly it`s happened before even Phil Spencer has people above him making the decisions. Only time will tell.

Uh, the US Govt signed a contract with Microsoft to provide JEDI Cloud Service - https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/25/20700698/microsoft-pentagon-contract-jedi-cloud-amazon-details.  Doubt much will go directly to France.
