September 11, 200619 yr Having just been for an explore from Ferihegy Airport I was rather surprised to find that the Danube appears to dry up a few miles south of Budapest in FSX. Is this just some quirk of my graphics setting or is one of Europe's most important rivers ignored?
September 11, 200619 yr Why not reserve judgment until FSX is actually released?RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
September 11, 200619 yr Because the data source for landclass etc. is extremely unlikely to change, as tdragger has pointed out multiple times.Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg
September 11, 200619 yr >Because the data source for landclass etc. is extremely>unlikely to change, as tdragger has pointed out multiple>times.>I am well aware of that, and I stand by what I said about reserving judgment. I think it's important that the original poster realize that it is possible that certain features could be adjusted, like terrain spikes, in the next weeks. And you should also realize that certain scenery errors have been pointed out and duly noted by ACES. Does that mean they will be fixed? Given the scope, not likely, but it leaves open the possibility, however remote.RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
September 12, 200619 yr because the data source does not cover that area, the same problem Ultimate Terrain: Europe ran into
September 12, 200619 yr Well I agree with reserving judgement.Mentioning these things is good however, being that it's a beta afterall. The purpose of betas is to report problems, even if its likely that someone already knows or that it'll probably be fixed.
September 12, 200619 yr It's best to send it to [email protected] then. Since the data is missing, the Danube would have to be manually tweaked there. I doubt that will be done before release. :( But fear not, I am going to figure out how to adjust rivers in FSX, using the SDK, etc. and maybe I will take a look at the Beautiful Blue Danube.RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
September 12, 200619 yr Author Ultimate Terrain uses TeleAtlas data so its not comparable. FS-X uses NAVTEQ data. The strange thing is that the scenery add-on "All roads of Europe" also uses the NAVTEQ data and I can confirm that "All roads of Europe" has the Danube in place and I didn't notice any gaps. Can the original poster give me some coordinates where the data is missing? It would be interesting to see if "All roads of Europe" suffers from the same problem.
