PMDG 737NGXu First Impressions and Review!

From what I have seen on YT etc that I think the negatives are, the overlay texture on the seats to make them look "fluffy" is horrible and look terrible. Now there using DL for overhead lights in the VC, it seems FPS dive into teens. A huge hit. The sounds also don't blow me away like the addon sounds packs for the NG. Do the windows open and depending how much does the sounds go up/down? No? Really!

Good on you finding that negativity and pessimism in the product. While you wait almost a year for MS2020 (not even in Alpha yet) and getting it then, I'll be flying her tonight. Enjoy yourself.

Let's keep to the topic, folks, which is first impressions and performance of the add-on itself--not pricing policy, P3D vs SimZilla, the future of simming etc.  All that is being discussed in other threads.

First impressions.

-Overall I like it.

-I use chaseplane.  I'm not completely thrilled yet with the presets i've created or seen in the community for the VC.  They have redesigned the dimensions.  While some would say it's good that it's more realistic, I'm having trouble adjusting.  I can't find a view I like where I don't have to move my head to the right to manipulate things on the MCP like altitude etc.  Could also be my settings.  But the textures look more crisp in pictures.  In the VC.

-Exterior of the plane is amazing.  Very nicely done.

-Taxi.  Totally different.  But I was able to make some very nice 180 ground maneuvers that were not possible in the same way before.

-Love the rain effects.  Love the turbulence and shaking effects.  Similar to the PMDG 747.

-Love the ACARS.  Nice being able to DL the wind.

-EFB.  I don't have a chart subscription at this time.  So performance data is nice.

-Like having the one click time compression ability.  I know a lot of you guys hate using it.  I fly without it on most flights.  But I'm not super in love with sitting there at cruising altitude doing nothing.

-Sounds.  I am somewhat missing the immersion cockpit sounds I purchased.  It's possible they still work with this plane.  But haven't tried.  Also finding the volume difference between inside the plane and outside to be somewhat annoying when switching back and forth.  Would also like to have the chime type sound when an acars weather downloaded has finished.  Maybe it's a setting an I haven't found it yet.

Overall I like it.  It's not a game changer.  But if you plan on moving to the next sim.  It's a dollar for dollar reduction of that future price while getting to use it now.  I'm ok with that.

Does it have rain on windshield ?

Yes it have, looks great with the wipers while taxi..
i dont have seen Ice, maybe the weather in my first flight have no icing conditions.
so i also love new sounds, i can fly it verry smooth, so it feels better then with the "old" one.
new turbulence effects are also great.
what i dont like is:

When P3D Window is not in focus, all ambient sound are gone. thats bad.

Does anyone know what liveries are available for the NGXu via the PMDG Ops Center?

OK, thanks.  Not a really big lineup, but I'm sure the repainters will start cranking them out before long.

another noticeable feature is higher FPS for the gauges in the VC.  Altitude scrolling is much smoother.  I'm going to check on the ground later to see if snow will form on the wings at the gate like on the FSLABS airbus.

What is this addon immersive sounds program everyone keeps comparing this stock AC to saying it’s much better than the current stock sounds on this new NGX release...?

Does it simulate icing to begin with?
