FSX Activation

Recommended Posts

I've just realised that FSX will need to be activated by telephone or on-line. Does this mean I will need to purchase separate copies for my two machines?

>>>... but I'll bet they don't - right?>You are correct, but I have only one CD4 so cannot run them simultaneously. Furthermore, it would be impossible to control two aircraft at the same time ;)George

Well since a co-pilot mode has been included, I think it would be cool if they allowed us to install on two machines

All you need is to do a full install and then download the "no cd patch" and bingo! I'm sure the same person that has been doing the "no cd patches" for the last few FS versions will give us one for FSX.

You don't even need the NO_CD-hack (It's not a patch). Create a virtual CD and copy your FS CD4 onto your HD. Mount the CD4 image on your virtual drive and you're good to go. You only need to do this once. Good way to stay legal and avoid home-hacked fs9 executables.Cheers,

I haven't seen the legal particulars for activation of FSX yet but most of Microsoft's releases will allow for activation on one PC and one laptop except for operating systems. This remains to be seen with their final release version of FSX but I do hope so as I take my laptop out of town often and use FS on it.

Would be nice if it was like MS Office 2003 student that IIRC allows activation on 3 machines. It _shouldn't_ be necessary to lock a license to a single machine, but let's face it, people will grudgingly accept single machine activation if they have to. Regardless I'm expecting there will be unlocked torrents available, since that seems to be the way of the world.the main impact is on WideView-type installs.scott s..

I think the best solution would be a license (activated by phone or on line) to operate 2 PCs. It's only fair.Stelios

So, god forbid that we should want to format our drive or even upgrade our P.C,s eh?I have already ordered 'FSX' but wish now I hadn't.This 'activation' is a step back, IMO. Good way to drive people away from flightsim though!
