FPS

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just got my new computer, and installed FS9. I was wondering what kind of frame rates everybody is getting with all of these new processors out. I have all default textures/scenery with the exception of Koorbygen Lite (replacement building for North America). I flew around NYC for thirty minutes, looking at it from different view angles at an average of 35 FPS. All sliders are maxed out with the exception of ATC Aircraft which is at 75 percent. I have all kinds of programs running in the background (if anybody was wondering), and no I haven't begun to tweak Windows XP. Thanks J.R.Pentium 4 D930 Dual Core 3.0GHZ (No Hyper-Thread)ASROCK ConroeXFire-eSata2 Motherboard1GB/533 DDR2 Goodram (1 Piece)Nvidia G-Force 6200 256MB PCI-EP.S. I will be upgrading memory, and Video card at a later time.

Hi,If you are getting smooth gauge updates, scenery and no blurries then ENJOY! :) Frames rate comparisons are pretty much meaningless because of the differences between our computer hardware and software. It is like bench racing discussions between auto enthusiast concerning dyno numbers. And 35fps sounds great anywhere! :)Bob.

If your flying DEFAULT A/C then that is nothing to brag about....try loading up a LevelD 767 or PMDG 737 and fly into FlyTampa KSFO and if you are still getting 35FPS then you will have something to brag about....

Hello, Actually I have a G550 with a custom panel that I made myself. It has alot of crap on it, and it is heavy on Frame rates compared to other aircraft. But I'll try flying into KSFO to see what happens. The point of this discussion wasn't to brag or anything, but to get an idea of what frame rates other FS9 users were getting on a average with new computers. Thanks for the comments J.R.

Try MEGASCENERY New York....and then talk to me about your frames. StanPS. The NY scenery is worth every penny!

J. R.:If you will go to the Microsoft Flight Simulator Hardware Discussion elsewhere in this forum you will find a thread called "Benchmark". There are some links to some freeware benchmark programs that you will find very helpful in comparing your machine to others. Although they don't actually test it against FS9, it is a good way to get a comparison. I'd love to see how your new machine does, and it is helpful to others that are trying to make upgrade decisions!

Just out of curiosity, why buy the ASRock Conroe capable mobo and then put a Pentium D in it?It would have been cooler and faster with an E6400 in it......
