I had a moment last night when I was weighing the pros and cons of paying for navigraph services  and it's not that expensive (cheaper than say Netflix or Amazon),

Sorry John but this is a strange few of this point. I think you wouldn't pay for Netflix or Amazon each month when you wouldn't have a lock to this no day because you don't want it and need it. Wouldn't you?

In your case I anderstand it's fine for you and you need the charts but now all the other customers who don't need it havent no choise anymore if they want it or not. That's not a correct behavior against customers.

If anyone is interested, I started a poll to see how many people use each flightplan data and chart options:

That's a great idea, have voted and see what I 've thought before, there are not a few people who us FMS Data only. Navigraph are liars.😢

I see is pss a330/340 for fs2004 is supported but no mention of pss a320. Does anyone know if the pss a320 is actually also supported by the same file?

I use Navigraph FMS and Charts. I would however like the option to FMS only or Charts only. I believe that is how it should be.

If Navigraph supports P'SS  with one file it's most likely the same with NavDataPro.

@Twenty6, yes, I often wondered why I needed to update my weather program. The PMDG entry appears to be in German. Could anyone translate this entry please? Hopefully it means all PMDG CDUs can be updated....

If you import your flight plan into Active Sky in order to set the enroute weather with maximum accuracy, it’s advantageous to have the same nav data in AS as what your aircraft FMS is using. If AS can’t find a specific waypoint called out in the flight plan it’s not a major problem - it will just skip over it.

Harmonizing the nav data between the aircraft and Active Sky is most useful for those aircraft that can uplink current winds aloft for each flight plan waypoint (generated by AS) into the FMS. That feature has been available in the PMDG 747 for quite some time, and is now featured in the NGXu as well.

Thanks Jim. I don’t have the 747, just the 737. It sounds as though it’s not a critical requirement, just a desirable one.

I will be using the 3 month complimentary offer. Why not? I've taken this screen grab of my account so I have proof of the date when the next payment will be taken. I will cancel mid February.

I believe you can unsubscribe now and you'll still get those 3 complimentary months.

Technically there's no need to unsubscribe as no monies are due until the end of Feb. You never know how they treat unsubscribed members. Given the backlash they may even have a change of heart.

I believe they will. The market isn't that large relatively speaking for them to sacrifice share. I used the Navigraph charts this past weekend and much prefer Avialsoft EFB which most certainly does import from Simbrief by the way. Though the Navigraph charts are more detailed and colorful they are not as user friendly. Maybe I'm just not use to them yet. My subscription has been extended to July with the free three months but after that definitely not. I like to keep my ARAC up to date and will have to go to something else for that.
