PTA HDR adaptation effect tweak

I'm having a bit of trouble with the tweak turning off the HDR luminance adaptation effect because it makes the flight deck of the newly released NGXu very dark. I was looking for other ways to turn the effect off but haven't found anything that works. I'd like to know how PTA applies the tweak and if it's doing more than basically just pressing a simple on/off switch which might be what's causing the trouble.
