Tim Conrad's AN-2... beautiful plane, but need help finding missing gauges!

Recommended Posts

I love this plane, but even after following the instructions in the readme, and searching the folders for gauges, I'm still missing most of them. I have a ton of other planes installed (some 600+ seperate plane folders), so it's not like I don't have at least some of the common gauges out there... so why'm I still missing many of the gauges needed for this glorious plane? Was there a special addon pack that I couldn't search/find for this plane? Or a revised edition of this package? Maybe a patch containing the missing gauges?

Hmm, well I just double checked, and I already have the Vega and DC3 .cab gauges already in the main gauge folder... and also inside the AN-2 panel folder too.I'm very certain it's other gauges I'm missing... for instance, I have no attitude indicator, no horizontal situation indicator or directional heading gyro, no vertical speed indicator, no altitude, and there are some other rather significant "empty" areas on the primary center panel, both 2d and virtual pit.I just noticed something: the DC3 gauges seem to be listed differently than the FS9 versions....In my Antonov it's : gauge10=DC3Gauges!ahi, 377,501,142,147While in the Douglas it's : gauge15=Douglas_DC3!ahi, 475, 371See, there's the word Douglas in one, Gauges in the other, and also a _ space in the second... so I'm wondering if that's the pathname for the FS2002 gauge instead of the FS9 gauge? Is there a fix for this?

Try to replace the word "DC3Gauges" with the word "douglas_dc3" by editing the panel.cfg.Hope that helpsRon

Yea, I just did that, took about 15 minutes while watching TV... added the Bendix AP while I was at it, looks and flies great now! Thanks guys!PS: here's the changes I made, basically the same as before, but for FS9 default gauges, and the addition of the autopilot, everything else is the same:[Window00]file=an2_pnl.BMP size_mm=1024window_size_ratio=1.000 I fixed it before I found this (FSPanel Studio spotted the errors) but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

I am glad you got the gauges aliased ok.Incidentally, would you recommend this T. Conrad's An-2 for AI use? Or should I look for a simpler, more framerate-friendly An-2 model for that?EDIT: I am not saying Tim's isn't frame rate friendly...but what I mean is, when you have 5 or 10 An-2's flying around your AI space...THAT is what hurts frame rate and is why you look for ideal models for AI. Would Tim's be ok?RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

There are other problems with it in FSX. The VOR1 and VOR2 gauges and the ADF gauge are FS98 gauges. They can be replaced with FSX type gauges. The prop deice switch does not exist either. It too can be replaced with a FSX gauge. Regards, Bob.
