I hear people talking about a glass cockpit. What is that?

Large "glass" multi function displays replacing traditional single function vacuum or gryoscopic instruments - the B777 type display vs the King Air in FS2004http://stationair.cessna.com/avionics.chtmlThis type display is becoming more common in training single engine piston aircraft - because learning this type display is becoming a requirement to enter airline programs for new pilot trainee's.

Thanks for the answer and ESPECIALLY thanks for the link. That plane is beautiful. Is that one of the default planes in fsx?

Great!!!!!!!!! thanks for the pics If the sim looks like those pics I think it is great. Have you tried the bell chopper yet? I could fly it in fs9 but NEVER could land it without crashing.

>I hear people talking about a glass cockpit. What is that?Only the Deluxe Version of FSX will contain the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit, so watch out for a Avsim thread on Oct. 18th whining "yuck, i bought the standard version" ...To keep you busy until FSX release date, check out these links:1) http://www.garmin.com : The G1000 manuals are available as PDF for free. A G1000 PC Simulator is available for a few bucks.2) http://www.avidyne.com/products/demo.shtm : Avidyne is another manufacturer of glass cockpits. Their EX5000 PC Simulator is available as a free download. PDF manual is included in the download. There are some differences between Garmin G1000 and Avidyne EX5000, but if you know one, you should be able to adapt to the other one within minutes ..

Don't forget about this product!http://www.mindstarprods.com/aviation/The FSX G1000 is supposedly ok, but not fully functional. Apparently this one is on the money. And works in FS2004 as well.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
