Breaking news!

Recommended Posts

FS9 A Century of Flight is released!! I've got a copy and it's installed on my computer now! It's awesome, there are heaps of vintage classic aircraft including the Wright Bros a/c. Graphics are awesomew, heaps better than FS8! I would strongly recommend ppl to make the shift from fs2002 to 2004. Tristan

I tried it and the frame rates were not as good as FS2002.So I returned it to the shop today.I think I'll stick with FS2002 and wait and see. It just doesn't seem to be much better than FS2002.:(

compare the number of posts like that from 2002-2004 and then 2004-fsx...

Microsoft will go bust because of FS2004. It will never sell and become popular. It's just a patch for FS2002, which was a patch for FS2000, which was a patch for FS98, which was a patch for FS95... Besides, there is not a machine today that will run it at decent framerates. It will be at least 2005 until one will be released. I'm sticking with FS2002 and will completely skip FS2004 until the summer of 2005 when FS2006 is released!RH

I will say it will be at least 4 months before I even think of regularly flying FSX. I have learned to let the dust settle, and let the early adopters work the kinks out as well as let the 3rd parties start to catch up and port their products etc. I did this with FS2002 and it proved a good plan. I beta tested FS2002, FS2004, FSX so I have seen the software early and late, but it seems a good practice to keep what you know absolutely works before any migrations take place. Thats just how I do it. YMMV.E

FSX??? My God they've just released FS9!!!Are my planes from 2k2 going to work with FS9? What about FSX, and if they're already working on FSX, then what about FSXI?Where did you get it from, I mean I have to have it a day before everyone else, I just have to I'll die otherwise, but hang on.....I don't want FS9 it's still got the blurries, and will run way to slow on my Oct-Core System, if I don't get at least 190 fps it's not worth it, is it optimised for multicores? I'm not even going to think of getting it without it.Will I have to buy all my payware again? I mean I've flown 16,000 hours on my Dreamfleet 737 from both 2k and 2k2. I paid $30 for that, I expect to get at least another 16,000 hours of use from it for that price!!!And don't even mention FSUIPC!!!! Is he going to charge for it, I mean come on I go to work for free and spend all my day trying to help people so should every other bugger, it's bad enough I have to pay $300 for Win98 let alone $70 for FS you want me to pay more!!!!Sigh. From a contented AMD2400+ user who has already accepted that he won't have top of the line performance, and is rapt it looks better than FS9 (at least the demo did).Microsoft - Thanks for a great product, the day someone writes a freeware version way better, and with free levelD software, and free hydralics and of course the sexy hostess all for free, you'll always get complaints.
