you can see all signs in street view already as has been pointed out.  Im sure they'll be there in the sim if the AI can do that sort of thing.

I too really hope interstate signs are there and wouldnt it be cool to one day have animated LCD billboards/signs like they do?  Flying at night would be amazing.

Those would indeed be great, but I have my doubts they would animate, or even light up at night for that matter.

I would think in this case it would fall under fair use.  In addition to that, as long as MS doesn't used anyone's brand as a primary point of marketing or selling the product, they're OK.

This is what I hope will not happen. Although I do expect, and not sure why they do this, that FedEx trucks can't be using their real logo? But I hope the building can like in the USA Best Buy, Target, Walmart, McDonalds, and a million other ones? And if I am flying down interstate I40, that an i, that I will see those signs showing the correct info, like exit Summer Ave, etc..., but doubt it. So my understanding is that they get the Bing Maps data, and Azure assist with the 3D rendering to make it like a Birds Eye view?

Just a bit more on the “fair use” comment I made yesterday.

the position is pretty similar in Europe, or at least in England and Wales. would most likely come under fair use, and Microsoft would probably just include something in the terms of service about how images/ content from the sim cannot be used in a commercial context by users. It’s still a slightly untested part of the law though, but I think the initial trademark trolling of the map apps seems to have died down.

I just hope that if MSFS 2020 can render the real correct information, such as Walmart, etc... in any country, understanding laws are different all over the world, that if you can see them when walking, driving, flying, etc...  you can see the actual ones in the simulator. Will be interesting to see in the release to the public for sale.
