Flight Simulator Forum is open for signing up

Recommended Posts

This is bad news for avsim. I personally wouldn't bother visiting avsim again if msfs forums have general discussions section, Id rather go there

It has been open for signup on that same link for the past 6 months. Why the post now?

Is the link for a Microsoft Account sign in or a Microsoft Flight Simulator Forum Sign up?

You are signing up for an MFS Insider Forum's account.  Your sign-up will be authenticated by a human at a later date.  This just get's your request into the queue.

It isn't unusual for some website properties to require a separate login for the forums... and that's what this is.

My email client (Thunderbird) didn't like the confirmation email suspecting a fraud. Holding off a little.

I'm happy it's open- that way I can share my thoughts, feelings and experiences where it matters most instead of dealing with many of the persnickety folks on Avsim.  Freedom at last.

I never saw it open before- always saying coming soon.

I got a confirmation mail from microsoftstudios with a link. Klicking the link leads to a Server Error 500.

I hope the future sim servers will be more friendly towards the users.

Kind regards, Michael

It still says Coming soon on flightsimulator.com, you could always manually put in forums.flightsimulator.com and sign up.

I tried this several times over the last weeks but never got a confirmation mail before. Today I got one which, however, doesn't work.

Kind regards Michael

Ah ok. I signed up right after the E3 announcement, got the confirmation email link went through but it said I needed to wait for my account to be approved. Yesterday got another email saying my account was approved; I could log in and view + post in the forums for a few minutes; after that my account went back to needing approval.

I'd suggest waiting for an official announcement by MS that the forums are opened and the link on their homepage works instead of saying "coming soon", instead of taking the backdoor and wondering that it doesn't work.

But "waiting"? No way, I know. 🙂
