402C taxi

Recommended Posts

When I taxi, I am all over the place.  The controls seem very sensitive and if there's a tailwind, it's even harder to maintain centerline.  The other thing is that just increasing throttles a little makes it go at a good speed.  I find that I have to apply a little and then back off immediately.  I have four to six passengers at 80 kgs each and  about 100 kgs luggage in the nose and sometimes 50 in each wing.  Is there anything I can do?

It's not the easiest aircraft to control and with that big tail, any crosswind is going to push it around.  I find that control is good when using differential toe brakes and differential throttle, but it does take some practice.

Thanks, I see that if I put 150+150 kgs in the two front, I get much better control.  What is the max they  can take?

The 402C had two nose compartments.

Nose forward compartment had a limit of 250 pounds, less installed equipment.

Nose aft compartment had a limit of 350 pounds, less installed equipment.
