FSRealWX lite not writing weather to FS

Hi Folks,

Try as I might I cannot get the FSRealWX lite program to actually update the weather in FS9.  All appears to download correctly and I have confirmed that the METARS I am getting are accurate and up to date.  But none of the buttons for writing the wx to the sim do anything at all!  Strangely though the "Clear WX" button does work.  This is the VATSIM download, as the NOAA option just hangs.  I am not getting any upper winds either, despite ticking the relevant check box.  I have tried several older version of the program and on several computer too, all with the same effect.  Nothing!  (I have version 1.07.1522.)  The PC I wish to use this on runs XP, so I can't try the version 3 which is 64 bit.  

Can anyone offer advice....?
