What is going on in Lockheed Martin's P3D team

Recommended Posts

Nothing has happen since the release of v4. 5 more than 8 months ago.

Is further development closed?

Is the project closed down?

They are very active in their forums. They seem to be very busy too. 😉

Well that's not true...4.5.13.32097 (hotfix #2) was released at the end of September, and Hotfix 1 before that, so clearly things are still progressing.  They said well over a year ago that v4 was going to have some pretty long legs, more so than the previous iterations, so I don't see anything really unusual or unexpected at this point.

Whenever the next build comes out - be it minor or major - I hope they sort out the dark skies when the sun is 5 degrees above the horizon. All the hard work on cockpit lighting and PBR is undermined by seeing stars with the sun on the horizon.

In the last release they fixed the runway open / close bug so maybe this one can be fixed too. It’s only been there for around 15 years. 🤨

They're currently working in P3Dv5.0 and then right after in P3Dv6.0, with intermediate hotfixes 🤣🤣🤣

I just want LM to fix their engine.  See PMDG post about the technical background (just posted 2 days ago on their official forums).  P3Dv4.5hf2 is great and all (it is okay in my book, but it is still a pig with lipstick when it comes to performance).  I am hoping LM team is making version 4.6 (it should be v5 but installing use use the p3dv4 install strings) or something that way we don't have to keep rebuying new software as so many devs have created the p3dv4 option.

Anybody following P3D SDK guidelines will be for sure ready for any future releases as explained in the documentation 😉.
