Installation problems with PMDG NGXU ( Module Version 14

Recommended Posts

Hello, fluff friends,
I am in the process of adjusting my LINDA settings for my installed NGXU,to match the version NGXU 1.4,Current FSUIPC has been installed
My new NGXU I have installed under H:\P3Dv4.1-Sim\SimObjects\Airplanes, there is also the NGX stored!
To install the module I follow these instructions,

1)Download the zip file and expand it to a suitable accessible place (e.g. desktop).
2.)Open LINDA and make sure that the aircraft selector is not synchronized with Sim and --Aircrafts-- is displayed
3.)Click on the option Maintenance = Maintenance.
4)Under Import Aircraft Module, click Select Source Folder and locate the folder PMDG_737_NGXu_v1_0.
5) Click Select.
6.)Click on the Install/Overwrite Module button
7)Open your Flt-Sim and click Sync To Sim (make sure that PMDG_737_NGXu is displayed and outlined in orange)
8)Have fun.
Open your Flt-Sim and click Sync To Sim (make sure PMDG_737_NGXu is displayed and outlined in orange).

But this folder is not there, only PMDG 737-800NGXu and as model I use the SSW version:

I can't get any further.
Many thanks in advance!
Greetings Peter

Hi Peter

I don't own the PMDG 737NGXu but I will try to assist.

Have you installed the latest FSUIPC5 5.153 as indicated in the NGXu download post?

Check the following folders for the PMDG 737 NGXu installed module:

  •  /modules/linda/aircrafts/
  •  /modules/linda-cfg/aircrafts

If this module folder is not present then it has not been installed correctly. This is indicated by the PMDG 737 NGXu not being listed in the Aircrafts drop down.

If you can select PMDG 737 NGXu, then click EDIT. Does it list a number of PMDG 737 NGXu variants?

I think I found the fault. You extract the zip file and become a folder called "PMDG_737_NGXu_v1_4".

So you must select under:

4)Under Import Aircraft Module, click Select Source Folder and locate the folder PMDG_737_NGXu_v1_0.

not look for PMDG_737_NGXu_v1_0

rather PMDG_737_NGXu_v1_4

Best regards

Charly

Thank you for that spot. I have edited the installation instructions to remove the reference to the earlier version.

hi ScotFlieger
in the SIM I have both NGX and NGXu
I installed the PMDG_737_NGXu_v1_4 version, followed the instructions, including FSUIPC5 5.153.
I'm trying to set up the overhead panel, assembled by me.
With NGX everything is working
With NGXu I have several problems, it seems that, in part, it interfaces with that of NGX, also the rotary switches (IRS, Wiper, engine start) do not work. The ON-OFF-ON switches also do the same thing.
Do you agree?
I thank you for your attention

I am not fully familiar with the NGXu as I do not have it. I will direct your question to Guenseli.

Hello Mario,

are you sure, that - if you use the NGXu - in Linda also the NGXu is also correctly activated? I mean that the NGXu is orange in the INDA GUI (on top)?

We have different reports that probably the old and the new NGX modules do not play well together.

I have no 100% working solution for this. Problem is, that the identification for LINDA is not 100% unique.

So my advice would be to look into Prepar3D v4\Modules\linda\aircrafts\PMDG 737 NGX and open there the ident.lua and change the simfolder= (whatever there is currently) to something different, maybe to simfolder="NGX".

Or disable the old NGX module completely for testing (means, remove the old NGX module files from the modules folder)

Hello
first I replaced "PMDG 737" with "NGX" in the simfolder of both linda and linda.cfg (linda> aircraft> PMDG 737NGX> ident.lua> sinfolder)
Nothing is coveted
I have found a difference between NGX and NGXu:
linda-cfg> aircraft> PMDG 737NGX there are:
- backup folder
- action.lua
-config-his.lua
-config-mcp.default
-config-mcp2.default
-config-user.default
-config-user.lua
-ident.lua
-PMDG 737NGX-funcions.txt
-readme.txt
user.lua

Same route in NGXu:
- backup folder
-config-hi.lua
-config-mcp.default
-config-mcp2.default
-config-mcp2a.default
-config-user.lua

is it correct or are they files?
thank you for your attention

PS: sorry, I'm organizing to insert pictures

Don't you have an "action.lua" in the NGXu folder???

THIS is the essential module file!

all *.default files you could ignore.

Then, beside the action.lua there is also the ident.lua and the user.lua missing!?

Maybe you should redownload the NGXu module again!

I re-downloaded and installed the PMDG_737_NGXu_v1.4 file
generated on the desk top,
- open LINDA orange "aircraft" box
- maintenance - import aircraft module - imported the module
- open the SIM - LINDA orange box PMDG 737 NGXu - sync to SIM

https://ibb.co/1Mwfd1X

not syncro!?

now I attach the reference folders

https://ibb.co/nLP8zQ3

several files are missing

sorry if I insist, I get on well with LINDA

Please open the downloaded module with a ZIP Tool and place the files by hand into the approbiate folders.

Maybe LINDA gets confused when you import it "automatically" due to the similar namings

Hi Mario

The distribution files in your screenshots are correct and as intended. The additional configuration files in /modules/linda-cfg/aircrafts/pmdg 737 NGXu are created when you first run a module (ie. config-hid.lua, config-mcpX.lua). I have tested the automatic installation process and it is working correctly.

I have amended the module installation instructions due to a double embedded distribution file.

You should be able to correctly install the NGXu module (and others) by opening LINDA on its own (no Flt Sim running).

  1. Click on Maintenance link.
  2. Click Source Folder.
  3. Navigate to where the module has been downloaded and unzipped (Extract All).
  4. Drill down until you see the PMDG 737 NGXu folder containing the folders LINDA and LINDA_CFG. You may need to drill down one further layer.
  5. Click on Select.
  6. Click on Install/Overwrite PMDG 737 NGXu button.

See screenshot below.
