Aerosoft A330 professional not really compatible with AI!

Recommended Posts

Hello,
bad news for some people:
The Aerosoft Airbus is not really compatible with normal AI settings. It doesn't like loading an amount of AI (because you'll get stutters for a few seconds!). I had this inflight (Cruise Level) when the AI for Calgary was loading and the AI for Vancouver (Descent).

More info at the aerosoft topic:
https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/149704-hugh-problems-when-many-ai-are-loading/&tab=comments#comment-961898

You'll need always - I mean always ! - minimum 18 FPS! Even some seconds below is not accepted by this aircraft. That's the info I'll got from Aerosoft

I've a lot of Payware Aircraft, some of them are really more FPS heavy (like the FSlabs A320 series), but the Aerosoft A330 is the only one which will crash when AI is loading. (It looses completely control - Alpha floor - climb with 9000ft/min - ...)

one of the answers from Aerosoft:

Hello Urmel,

I am sorry that my answer did not please you. But is your sim constantly running more than 18 fps when this event happens? If it isn't then there isn't unfortunately much we can do. As I said, due to the nature how our aircraft has been coded to interact with P3D functions, it requires constantly more than 18 fps. This is in the very core of our Airbus product and not something that can be fixed without reprogramming the whole product again. It is a limitation that we simply have to accept and in order to deliver for most of our users we have tried to make our aircraft as fps friendly as ever possible. But if you load out your simulator with massive amounts of AI, weather, add-on sceneries etc. it will have it's breaking point.

I know my answer might not satisfy you, but I have tried to be as honest as possible with you.

Be careful with you purchase!

So as a self-confessed frequent flyer with the Aerosoft Airbus and recently also with the new Airbus A330, I cannot report any problems - it has been going as one. Even with AI traffic. Have no problems if I set the AI setting to 100% traffic. The P3Dv4 does not crash. The purchase of the Aerosoft A330 can therefore be recommended without hesitation.

The FSLabs Airbus, however, is totally frameless. The FSLabs Airbus is only for those who are willing to lower their usual graphics settings. Everything else Simmer buy the Airbuses from Aerosoft.

So I guess you have a user-specific problem.

Interesting. I see the exact same issue with the AS A319/320s and had put it down to changes in heavy cloud conditions, but not AI. However, the effects are the same - massive stutters, total loss of control, alpha floor, ridiculous climb rate, etc, etc.  Generally, I can regain control by pausing the sim for a few seconds, then taking the throttle out of alpha floor and resetting all of the autopilots. Assuming of course that I'm in front on the sim when it occurs.

Sounds like the 330 is the same...

Yes, I am having same issue (Alpha floor/ crazy VS, plunge) and my hardware is not that bad.
I am dazed by Aerosoft's answer.
Once, when something was wrong in the coding, some devs were using the "FSX/P3D limitation" argument, to hide their incapacity to solve issues.
Today it seems like "coding limitations" is their answer.

So it should be specified in the specs: "Operational as long as you use it on a vanilla sim, without weather and addons, with default graphic settings and without AI".
Absurd, really.

Yes, I was thinking also that's only a problem. I'll post in the forum and they can have a look into. But then I got this really weird answer.

You are recommend the purchase: Ok, your choice. But at the moment it will not working for all, so it's not a good idea to recommend it, because it's not working at all.

I think you are working sometimes with Aerosoft when I remember your name?, or you have an close relationship. Hm, interesting.

Ok, you don't like the FSLabs because it's not from Aerosoft. But for me: I can fly it without reducing the settings.

Have fun

It absolutely does have a problem with AI as does the A320 pro.

With several hundred airlines installed with AIG's AIM, over 250 AI aeroplanes load causing my FPS to drop. When that happens the Aerosoft Airbusses go haywire.

Only solution is to hit pause and wait for AI loading to complete 3 seconds later. No other aeroplane in my hangar has this problem.

Can it be that you sometimes wear an aluminum hat and are not averse to conspiracy theories? Very interesting!

So I can only repeat it. No problems recognizable on my flights, everything fine here 🙂

Happy New Year everyone!

Lol learn to set your PC and P3d up if I can run any airport with the FSL A321 with good setting on a 5 year old PC then like many others the problem is you’re end.

David runs FSL and the A330 but I don’t hear him saying the FSL is dropping out the sky and I never drop below 26 FPS any where.

The FSLabs Airbus, programming, isn't hardwired into the FPS like the Aerosoft is, is it? I have flown the FSLabs and PMDG airplanes with quite low FPS (for longer periods of time) without any weird behavior.

I have never tried the Aerosoft Airbus series, so I can't comment on these 'issues' with FPS, but I think Aerosoft's dismissal with regards to support, under cover of FPS issues, sounds very weird, to be honest...

IF the AS bus's drop out the sky's if they hit below 18FPS then they should warn people up front about it.

I have read the lines carefully a few times. But I can't find anything where I don't like the FSLabs bus. So where did you read that I don't like FSLabs?
