LINDA + Aerosoft A320 Pro + VRI FCU

Recommended Posts

I have been using the Aerosoft Airbus A320, the VRi FCU (Airbus)  and LINDA for several years. I have not seen the issue you illustrate in the video where the SPD value jumps 'backwards' when the knob is rotated clockwise. The only possible cause is that something else is writing the FCU display. The displays are updated by 2 means. One linked to the incremented/decremented value as you turn the knob (SPD_inc/SPD_dec functions). The second is a one second update that takes the currently set value to update the display. This is usually related to the actual speed not the autopilot input.

This leads me to conclude that your setup is not correct. What flight mode are you using in the videos? I don't see AP 1 or 2 or Autothrottle displayed on the VRi FCU.

Please follow these options:

  •  Check that there is only one Aerosoft A3XX module on your system. In /modules/linda/aircrafts/ there should only be one folder titled 'Aerosoft A3XX Pro'. Remove all other folders beginning 'Aerosoft Airbus' or 'Aerosoft A3'.
  •  Reload LINDA and ensure that the aircraft box shows 'Aerosoft A3XX Pro' and that it is sync-ed to the sim (Orange outline).
  •  Go the Setup LINDA page and tick Developer Mode and select VERBOSE logging with GUI and LUA boxes ticked.
  •  Click on Tracer to open the LINDA Console and tick the Log VRi Events box.
  •  You should see the input and output to the VRi displayed in the console:
    • VRI com3 <--- dsp3 30/ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- dsp3 29/ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG169\ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG170\ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG171\ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG172\ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG182\ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG192\ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG202\ [from Lua Plug-in]
      VRI com3 <--- HDG203\ [from Lua Plug-in]
  •  Operate the various knobs and email me the FSUIPC5.LOG file.

Hi.. Finally, I figured out something and I want to see if it makes sense to you.

In the LINDA panel, click into "set up MCP combo" on the right, then on the left "MCP COMBO SETTING", I changed the delay from 20 to 5, seems that the issue is solved.

Does it sound reasonable to you? And what is the "delay" for?

Thanks again
