Be careful with Autogen emissive lighting (P3Dv4.5 ht2)

Recommended Posts

Better turn off "Autogen emissive lighting" in PTA 2.67 and for P3Dv4.5 ht2.

See this (this issue is present at down, dusk and night):

y5rcmOrm.jpg

On some trees no transparency background textures.

CVB0r0ym.jpg

I turned it off and this kind of trees back to normal in darker hours.

I think you may have a textures caching problem somewhere/somehow. I use that setting all the time and have no problems. Try my latest reset (link in my signature) and see whether you still get the problem.

Adam.

Hi Adam,

Its my own preset but I checked Your too for 2.67 >>> the result was the same.

You can check it.

OCL6 from dusk to down no transparency background. Fresh P3Dv4 install + ORBX Central 4.

P3Dv4.5 ht2, FTX HD Trees, North Cal, Vector, Global Base here (so standart 😉 ).

Strangely enough, I also have HD Trees. What's OCL6? I can't find it in P3D nor Googling for an ICAO code.

Or ... try a screenshot with the SLEW co-ordinates showing and I'll see if I can replicate it.

Have you tried reinstalling HD trees?

Adam.

Hi:

I also have this issue (+/-) and noticed it during daylight. I'm in the process of tweaking the autogen emissive lighting a bit down to see if it makes a difference. Hopefully yes.

I use the latest Adams preset, with some modifications, but not so many really. It's a very good preset.

Will be following this thread in the next days.

Cheers, Ed

0CL6, sorry, not "O". California.

From P3Dv4.5 HT1 LM changes something with lighting, so maybe this? PTA uses old part of P3Dv4 engine.

See this post. I'll check it but when I did new my profile yesterday I noticed the same (must check it also again to be sure 100%):

Hahaha - I should have guessed it was a zero. I was thinking it was some out of the way Polish farm strip (but with palm trees???) LOL.

Now I see what you mean!! Yuk!!!!!

trees-bug-0-CL6-1280.jpg?dl=1

I'll see if I can raise an issue with ORBX - it may be an HD trees issue.

I'll also investigate that Object Lighting post you quote.

Adam.

Yep, so it isnt ORBX issue but PTA old shaders according me. With default shaders is ok or if You turn off "Autogen emissive lighting".

Ok, will try turning it OFF. Lowering its value does nothing here.

Please post if you get information from ORBX anyway.

I wondered whether it was specifically a PTA issue, so tried it with Tomatoshade. Same problem. So ... it's either a generic P3D problem or HD Trees.

Here I have HD Trees installed first and afterwards TE Netherlands and TE GB. No tree issues.

I will have to check with my France VFR scenery.

Any place in Europe that has the issue so I can check it ?

I'm beginning to suspect that it's just the one texture (palm trees) in the ORBX LIBS that might be the problem. Nick in the ORBX forums has isolated it, I think. All we have to do now is to see if I can find out whose job it is to sort out! ORBX devs are a friendly and supportive bunch, so I'm hopeful we'll find a fix.

Adam.
