That is a brilliant screen shot. Almost Google earth.I hope it is real and attainable by us on the retail FSX.

Now I'm equally excited about the release of X AND the release of your tweaks. Please make it the same day!Jason

From the shot above it appears to me that autogen is turned off. With autogen turned off-the photo real textures really show up-hence how great the above shots show, and you get xplane smoothness. You do lose atmosphere while on the ground and less than about 150 ft. up. It would be so great if there was a way to turn autogen on-but only less than 150 ft.-then you could have everything.I am finding as I fly the sim longer-and trying all the autogen tweaks, that I still prefer to fly with no autogen. I get smoothness and lack of stutters that I haven't seen in the fs series since fs4, and then I can crank just about everything up to the max in the sim.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

You should be in the media :-lol. You didn't post your specs but I'm sure they're not too bad to get those frames. However let's point out a couple of things. One, you have no autogen. Also, do you have any AI selected? The most important thing is the angle of your shot. No horizon showing. I bet if you drop the angle of that shot to level, your frames drop by at least 150 points. Just a guess though. Ahhh but if only the frames where those in normal flight conditions.Dave

Am i to understand that you claim to get over a 100 FPS.............................Robert:)

Shure hope AWF's still online. I'd realy appreciate to know if he's still working on this and its findings as they stand now.Hugo

>From the shot above it appears to me that autogen is turned>off.>With autogen turned off-the photo real textures really showGeofa the autogen is with normal settings and tweaks but less stuff in a cell ;-)All settings not maxed will share it later ;-)Just received my deluxe version and installed and activated fine :-)First impressions:Graphics great work love the 1m stuff :-)Aircraft just great far better as anything default in FS9 and for that matter as a lot of payware to ;-)Love the new features and the cars and VC stuff :-)Great GUI compliments to ACES great work...As with every new version the bar will be raised for hardware requirements...The never ending story with software ;-)(Vista and DX10 will perform almost the same on your current system only with a better picture quality ;-) )(Vista requires more resources and DX10 the bandwidth will be filled up by the developers result almost same performance with a far better picture)As with every new introduction of an operating system it requires more resources of hardware :-lol )Performance will increase of course when there will be the 3 or later generation of hardware from this point onwards....As for performance without any tweaks and same settings as in the demo I was prepared for a huge decrease in FPS (had the beta on my HD lol)So at EHAM FPS between 28 till 40 fps sometimes almost 50 lolWithout AI, because the poly stuff with default AI isn't going to work...Ok back to the tweak table and will post my results here....Same as you Geofa I never liked the Autogen, because it don't looks like the real world counter part... to cartoonists look..Only trees but then at low level, at higher altitudes the ratio compared to the textures it's so unreal and out of perspective ;-)My impression is that FSX is regarding texture size (most at 1024 * 1024 compared to FS9 256 * 256) ready for DX10...So every memory increase on your GPU should be very helpful performance wise and of course your CPU but also the bandwidth of the system so balanced here...I want to achieve the above looks with add-on stuff and around 25 fps with weather etc...So I'm back to the tweak table and to try / find the optimal settings for my system and my standards from a graphical point of view (They are high ;-) only satisfied if it looks like the real world counter part)...As for textures and sizes in FS9 it was always to look for the best balance in looks and performance with developing our aircraft ;-)My FS9 never goes below 35 FPS with all to the right and complex add-on aircraft and scenery and weather... with an average of 45 FPS on C2D system...What I notice with the default setup that it's starts with 15 FPS as target :-lolI will share my findings here for my fellow simmers and maybe it's helpful for there virtual FSX skies ;-)So to combine our efforts in the true pilot spirit we can help a lot of people to enjoy FSX ;-) because it's the step to the future of flightsimming... as what FS9 was back then :-lolAs for now I would like to thank Aces for a stunning platform and to make my pilot dreams become true :-) Have fun guys,Andr

It's a bit hard to see, because I'm shrinking my screen shot down from 10680x1050, but I believe that's 256.5 FPS showing on counter, near LAX no less! This is with Beta 3, so does this count? ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158508.jpgI cannot tell a lie - I have turned a few (OK, maybe lots of) settings down (off more like it!), to demonstrate that a screenshot without settings and hardware specs is, well, just a screenshot :-lol I can go the other way and get 6 FPS if I want. The not-so-subtle point I am trying to make is for posters to please give us an idea of what you have tweaked, and on what relevant hardware, rather than just wowing us with a potentially contrived screenshot :-)Gary
