Compete with what?

Well, at this point, while there are lots of potential answers to that question, I'd say they are really going to be competing with themselves/FSX. No sign of them even making a start on the (enormous) Mac/Linux/Mobile market.

Dwindling FSX sales -> MSFS2020 at an order of magnitude higher price.

MSFS2020 has to fail on a lot of promises to not be regarded the #1 sim.

Really? You think it will take that crown from Gran Turismo 7 (with PSVR 2.0 support)?

I'm not even convinced MSFT have promised enough that MSFS2020 doesn't go the same way as MS Flight or flight sim world. Flight sim is a very tough, demanding market to crack. They haven't actually promised VR - They haven't even really promised mods in any meaningful way. All they have promised so far is modern graphics and a slightly less awful flight model than a sim made roughly 20 years ago.

Which promises are you referring to?

Pretending to fly a Carbon Cub over a beautiful city scenery has great novelty value, but it will get boring very very quickly. wont hold the attention of the 1 min 18 second crowd, nowhere near enough to retain the more serious crowd.

Who are already used to and have installed

Woohoo, what a rollercoaster ride. Just like the content itself. 😄

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Exactly!  I would suggest that if you are not showing a video to show a problem with your simulator or textures, (those are allowed), you place the video in the video forum and then provide a link to the video in the forum where you responded.
