EKCH

Recommended Posts

Hi! Any Pc.Plt heard some news regarding an updated Fly Tampa version of EKCH arpt? (FYI. In the real world, EKCH is nowdays closed and is use by an industry that manufactures women's underwear for very large women. Terminal 2 is use by a sausage factory that specializes in "Rød pølse"). The reason for EKCH being closed was that a bird protection association in Copenhagen stated that air traffic was disruptive to birds.

The real reason for closing EKCH seems to be a bit off-topic in a flightsim forum but I notice also in the real world that thousands of windmills they are building within the "hidden" Green-Deals  and starting to close airports have killed already lots of real life birds.

I can't find any detailed info over it and it's been a while I was there in real life but glad that I can still visit every monday evening the virtual EKCH.

Happy landings at Kastrup.....

Well, there's something you don't read everyday!

Just to be sure, I've asked Snopes.com to investigate whether EKCH has been replaced by large ladies' underware and sausage factories...

@Anders Bermann You're a local to Kastrup. Can you take a look for us while Snopes does their research and report back to us, please?

Sure looks like it's still operating flights, though.

LOL - this is the weirdest thread in AVSIM... 😮

Well, according to FlightRadar - Kastrup's still operational (and I've just had a couple of planes fly over me)...

Also, given that Copenhagen Airport is one the largest workplaces in Denmark, I'm quite sure, that a closure would be 'Breaking News' on all media outlets in - well at least - Denmark.

Nothing's so far... But who can tell...

That would be the wurst decision for the airport.

Just FYI some data from Germany:

Windmills have killed around 100.000 birds in 2017. Around 4-5 bird per windmill.

In the same year around

200.000 birds drowned caught by fixed fishing nets
16 mio birds were killed by domestic cats
18 mio birds are killed on windows
10 mio birds are killed by cars
12 mio birds are killed by trains

The data comes from the "German Society for Nature Conservation"

Sorry for the OT, going back to women underwear 😉

A few people in this thread REALLY need some SERIOUS help.  😉

On a slightly but not entirely more serious note... sometimes one absolutely regrets open a thread... this was absolutely one of those times!

Sorry! Do not be confused. The topic is only one more exemplar of my bad kind of humor.
