Orbx T.E.-Florida, their stand alone KEYW

Recommended Posts

This purchase (I have T.E. Florida HD and the stand alone Orbx KEYW) is beyond words...so there won't be any...

Pulling the best FPS ever...XP11.41 wide open, and getting between 30-38 FPS displaying, with even heavy cloud canopy!

Ok...I can't stand it...." Drop-Dead Gorgeous"!   Ok, got that out of my system..

For those that want to hold until the P3D v4 version is released, here's what you can have for now:

Tried to edit this post to include a direct link to the pics, but failed miserably. 😀

Hi Mitch,

I've seen many pics in the ORBX forum and they seem much brighter. What did the beta testers do differently? Maybe reshade?

Nice snaps, BTW.

I'm using a custom .xvs script here, and the shaders react to the cloud canopy, in my .xvs script.  I also have atmospheric haze employed, so that will refract the bright sunlight as well.   My preference in atmospherics is 'mood', rather than bright sunlight. Hope that helps, in the difference between them... and I just thought of something,  I usually take flights at around 06:00-07:15, as I also enjoy the morning transition of ground lighting to give way to the rising sun of morning break.  These shots are around 07:15 or so, so that would also affect the 'darker general tone'.  I'm sure that all advertising shots are taken probably at always 12:00 to have as much direct downcast sunlight as possible.  Just my opinion, there. My Orillia Seaplane Op's thread was also taken around 07:30 in the morning, but, there was no cloud cover...so you can see abient sunlight upon the aircraft, and ground/lake water, etc.  Yesterday in Key West, it was a thick SCUD cloud canopy mostly all day long. In mid Florida, there was rain...🙂

Definitely on my "to buy soon list" ... thanks for sharing.

Cheers, Rob.

Once you purchase it, Rob...I'm sure it will become a go-to place to take a flight out of.  The colors, deep and have luster, and I swear, by the different roof top shingle colors...amongst other things,  the whole of Florida looks exactly like my peering down to it, from any commercial flight.  My sister and bro-in-law lives in North Port, so we land always at Punta Gorda (Charlotte Airport KPGD), and I flew the approach yesterday as Allegiant lands there, and Rob...amazingly, it was like I was on their 737..

I got TE-Florida around 11:00 yesterday, and went to bed from continually flying it...at 3:30 this morning!   Had a blast...it can hold you, until your eyeballs fail....don't ask....:)

Tony..before I forget,  The docks at KEYW are empty.  There should be a commercial cruise line ship as well as a USN destroyer at dock.  I have that in my P3D Latin KEYW.  It really adds to the immersion. Perhaps Orbx can add those two ships in an update?  Those docks shouldn't be empty of marine traffic...

Yep, you're not the first to report this, and it's been noted 🙂

DJJose,  here are two screen shots taken under use of a different xVision .vxs file.   As you can see, it more matches what Orbx has put out, and most others...so it's truly all a preference by the User, what the 'world' atmospheric depth and assorted Shaders will look like upon the screen.

Post Edit:  In looking at my two uses of my default shader xVision script, and the 'brighter ground cover' script I used to make the comparisons for you,  personally for myself, I feel that 'contrast' between the ground textures, and the art assets sitting upon them, is less well defined than all my other screen shots to date, that have always had my 'preferred and default go-to' xVision .xvs script controlling the Shaders.  Personal preference of course, and that is the beauty of xVision, allowing the User to create the final outcome rendered to the monitor,  for themselves.

Cheers,
