This whole 16GB thing is ridiculous. The amount of conspiracy theories and speculation does nothing but time people up. Good job everyone. Flight simmers are becoming a peculiar bunch....

Your correct. Purly a lottery of which I NEVER win. 🙂

By now I think they meant that 16 GB will be enough for MSFS when it will be released.

Because there was some speculation here 32 GB would be the minimum.

All the better for people who have 32GB, it will just mean we have plenty of memory to play with if it's ever needed.

Conspiracy? It was perfectly valid to assume it might refer to 16 GB systems being targeted from there on.

They announced a new round of invitations and included the 16 GB "cleared for takeoff" hint. Now there are several possible meanings of this hint and one of them was that they might have been hinting at inviting more systems with 16 GB. No idea how this is not a valid interpretation or where the conspiracy is or why there's even an argument.

is there anything against the possibility that many more alpha or beta invitations will follow? or was there an announcement that this was the last wave?

Anything is possible, but no more waves or invitations have been announced or even hinted at, so at this time there is no reason to anticipate more getting in.

Remember the game is set to release at the end of this year so the beta phase will be coming up in a few months.  It's reasonable to assume the current alpha testers will migrate into the beta program.  Whether or not new people get invited into the beta phase is anyone's guess.

Not true.

On their last development road map version they've mentioned the testing program twice: mid march and mid april. You can read there: Pre-release build timeline update.

Long ways to go until a beta so I expect another wave of invites in Spring, possibly target lower specs and 16gb users.

All this says is that, well, we will be updated on the timeline for the pre-release build. This doesn't have to be referring to testing at all.
