Missing Apron and Taxiway Data?

Recommended Posts

Greetings!

I have an issue where both Plan-G and SimLauncherX no longer display the aprons and taxiways for airports. I have used them in the past to set parking spots (i.e., close to runway, GA size (small, medium. large), etc) but they no longer appear despite rebuilding the database for both products. The only thing I have changed, substantially, is the installation of the Flight1 GTN Combo package.

Is this something others have seen? I have not (yet) decided to reload the Content portion of P3D4.5HF2 to see if that corrects the problem, but if the GTN install removes all that information that would be grounds for immediate dismissal!

All airports, or just add-ons?  If it's just add-ons, are they in the scenery library but not active?  Those data elements (airport pavements) come from the AFCAD/ADE files (for add-ons) and the base scenery bgls for default airports.

Why would you reinstall the Content module of P3D for a scenery issue?  That module contains effects, sounds, textures, acft, vehicles etc.

As full of issues as the F1GTN is I've never seen that either myself, here or in the GTN forums. Absolutely no need for it to touch scenery files as it's data comes from elsewhere. Certainly no way it would corrupt two separate databases that are nothing to do with p3d..

First question is going to be can you see the items in the Sim itself?

Hi Bob,

All airports, unfortunately. And as for Content, it just came to top of mind writing my missive.- clearly I would have to research it a bit before taking such a drastic measure. My P3D installation is super-stable (knock on wood) right now and I am loath to rock the boat.

As for the second question, yes, the airports are fully functional within P3D.

Now I am wondering if it is more an issue with mapping software used by SLX and PlanG, i.e., Open Street Maps or similar. I will investigate and get back to you!

I am not sure how it solved itself, but rotating the source of map software resolved the issue. The apron and taxiways now show as expected, and the F1 GTN was not the fault.

How do I mark the question as "solved"?
