What we want - new graphics engine and better performance

What V5 will actually have - one new drone added to the selection of default vehicles

All the three and more.

Two remarks :

- v5 seems to be in the more advanced stage of development (beta ?) than FS20 so the main features are solidified. Our wishes won’t change anything.

- I wonder whether LM will pull a proverbial rabbit out of their hat, something unexpected that would give them an edge over Asobo’s baby. Or will they still be on the historical incremental tradition of the FS family of sims. And what could it be ? A fully developed ATC for instance ?

Why still bother to visit P3D forum? There is a special forum where you can share your MSFS flying stories.

I will move on when I'm convinced the sim offers me what they are showing.  People are in hysteria mode without really knowing anything specific.  The same hype existed with FSX.  All hype and fan-fare and pretty pictures (and the pictures did look amazing at the time).  Then I installed it and it was a bloody disaster.  It was two years before I converted fully.

Also, not sure how long it'll take PMDG/FSLabs to produce anything for the sim.  I'm pretty sure it'll be a good GA sim though, but I'm tempering going all guns blazing.  I've heard from a few sources that the SDK is quite far off the mark from being up to current expectations so...

But this is about P3D, not an elaboration of option 4

Spoiler alert:

When you watch some of the MSFS videos closely you can see it also there. Just don't let distract you from all the eyecandy, concentrate on the details in the background.

MSFS has no miracle technique, it still has LOD switching 😉

What a silly reply, I will fly P3D till its time to move, there were 4 option one was MSFS, so my reply was not even off topic. Get a grip.

Well another well thought out reply, what? you think MSFS is going to render the whole world in one hit? really!

I never brought MSFS to this discussion...

I want P3D to not to give me feelings of motion sickness when the terrain pops noticeably in the foreground as well as the background.

I'm none of the above. I'm happy to embrace the two Mother Sims equally as and when they arrive.

Increasing AA basically means increasing the sampling size from the source, which increases memory use proportionally, because the source has to be higher resolution to accommodate the larger sample pattern. Say for two notches more AA, especially SSAA, will be like going from 4x to 8k screen. Techniques on sampling are improving to use less GPU time to resolve AA.

I suspect for at least half the life of V5 P3D will be my main sim.

Your right Erich is was 2 year after release before we could enjoy it, but you have to remember PC clock speeds at that time were doubling every year. CPU clock speed have almost come to a halt. I Run P3D on a 5 year old PC well. let's remember P3D is FSX with bells on. Well the "new" FSX is coming and this time its a totally different world with your option 1-3 all in it plus countless more upgrades.
