but RXP really needs to look into this, it now seems there's several of us with this issue.

@onlyforbrian You might want to re-read what I've just written, twice, in bold, before your reply (I've highlighted the important text in red to help you find it faster):

NB: Garmin has just released a new 6.62.3 bug fix this morning and we're working on updating our GTN right now. If you're installing the Garmin trainer from Garmin website there is a great chance you're installing their new version.

In the meantime please follow this pinned discussion:

RXP can you clear something up for me, How is the trainer have anything to do with the program. Since we are looking for the program to work with our aircraft , because I am a little confused on why do we have to download the new trainer if I amore interested on just getting the program running and working period. Not trying to be sarcastic in any way just curious to know how does the trainer affect the actual program. Also when can I find any answers to the log I posted or support to get the program running. Please understand a customer who has spent so much money for something that has not worked.

Thanks in advance for your support

Hi,

This is a very legit question and it is the crux of the issue you're having right now.

The GTN Trainer is the Garmin application which is required for the rendering and authentic simulation of the GTN in the simulator. Our plugin/add-on manages to make the GTN trainer working into the simulator (to keep explanation simple).

The GTN Trainer installer comes in 2 packages: a full installer (~3GB) and a light installer. Whenever Garmin is releasing a new version, the older full installer is removed from the servers, and the light installer downloads the latest components.

Therefore when the RXP installer downloads the Garmin light installer for new customers, or when existing customers reinstall, they always get the latest GTN trainer.

The issue is that every new GTN trainer requires a RXP plugin/add-on update to make it compatible, because every time they change their code we have to 're-link' both sides.

Now what tells us you're facing this issue just by looking the log files: because there is a new GTN trainer and the log file shows it is not detected (by the way this will help us improve diagnostic messages in our next update).

I understand this is frustrating and you'd have liked benefitting from your hard-earned purchase right away. It is just unfortunate this is happening right now and Garmin doesn't give us any head start when they release a new version.

Rest assured it is just a matter of a few days from Garmin update to RXP update (we're nearly 70% done prior tests so far).

You can further see our past release notes and be assured we're strongly supporting our products and their updates:

Thank you for your quick reply in a timely matter. I will be sure to stay tuned for this update and looking forward to getting my reality plug finally working. THanks for your support and help. Im sure you have your hands busy updating customers and working on the problem. The explanation about the trainer and program now makes 100% sense how both work together.

Hi!
i bought the Reality XP GTN 750 a couple of days ago for XP11.

I installed it accordingly to the instructions along with the latest version of the Garmin Trainers. No matter what i do or how i configure the config file it will not pop up in the VC but only as a popup window. But thats not all, even the pop up window GTN will not turn on. I am really frustrater over that an expensive product like this is so hard to get to work properly. I hope someone have some good advise on what to do, all the best, Oliwer!

Just read the various posts in this forum... Garmin has released a new Trainer app and it is not yet compatible with the GTN gauge..

Relax and wait for RXP to announce the updated version and you will be fine.

I'm in the same boat... my GTN 750/650 now has a black screen after the latest Garmin Trainer update.

It worked before with no issues after clicking ok to the various error: loadlibrary ... errors (I have Comodo Firewall which causes the errors)

Hmmm, I just bought this product today (3/8/20). Perhaps this explains why I can't get it working. I thought it was me. Would help to put up a notice on the front page or somewhere in the documentation, unless you don't think our time is valuable. Looking forward to using this product to enhance the immersion of my simulator.

Thanks,

I don't think we can blame RXP, I think it was Garmin that screwed things up with their latest update. I'm sure RXP is working as hard as they can to fix the issue..patience my friend. I'm sure we'll all be up and running asap. 🙂

Worked twice, then the blank screen, never worked again. tryed with other ACFT, same result.

File paths are default and correct, any suggestions? Impressed with the program when it was working.

Thanks;

Honestly and politely....  Have you read the earlier messages in this topic and in related topics?  Be patient. The great news is that Garmin has updated the trainer yet again and that likely contains updated NAV data.  The issue appears to be sorting out the RXP GTN's communication with the Garmin Trainer, which by all appearances has changed with the trainer update.

I would guess that RXP prefers to wrap up that communication rather than sending everybody back to a previous trainer version, only to then in short order advise to install the updated trainer....  Jumping through hoops....

RXP has been providing more product updates than I have ever seen for any other add-on.
