Bill Gates steps down from Microsoft Board

Recommended Posts

Just saw this. Hopefully it does not affect the openness MSFS has with the community or the project itself. Unlikely, but, when I saw this news, the thought entered my mind since he was an advocate of the FS franchise back in the day.

Nope, he was not involved at all in any gaming ventures of MS.

As the stock plunges (it was near 200 a month ago), there is reason for fear.  It happened in 2009 when the ACES Team was released. Major financial crisis as the US elections were near.  Good thing we still have P3D.

Good thing we still have Microsoft!

You just cannot actually compare, financially, the two companies.

I believe in 2021, we will all think about MSFS2020 as a dream that never got release:(

Not really sure what your point is here... I'm grateful we have both of these companies.  They are not competitors and are in completely different industry spaces.  The products they provide are necessary and valuable.

These two companies have multiple business units or divisions. In no way any of them work as a complete overall or whole business unit, so every one of them could release or drop a business segment of the whole company if they fear or foresee financial trouble for that specific segment in the near future. All that has nothing to do with the market capitalization of the entire company, and that's a way to preserve their value.

I tend to think thanks god we still have P3D.

Anyone here really think MSFS 2020 is in jeopardy because Mr. Bill departed from the scene?  After they just spent all those $$$ developing it?  Is this a premature burial, or wishful thinking?
