If there's a P3Dv5 coming, then you'll likely need an updated version again.  I think I'll wait for that.

Not always. I remember when you could call them on the phone for help and the support was excellent. They seem to have lost the passion for this hobby.

I actually still get quite good support, though a bit slow sometimes. F1 even tried to help me via remote desktop. My current problem is the erratic behavior of the G500/G600 combo and I am still confident that a solution will be available soon. The GTNs work flawlessly.
