You'll have a better chance of getting an answer over at the vPilot forum on VATSIM: https://forums.vatsim.net/viewforum.php?f=132

Sounds kind of like your internet is having issues.

Run tests on here https://www.dslreports.com/tools

If you have a cable modem, you should be able to check the log, mine is at http://192.168.100.1.  Mine constanlty spews errors and correctoids, but works ok at least.  I actually gave up controlling on vatsim because the audio was terrible and I was constantly disconnected.  It seems that vatsim audio is a lot better and my connection as well (I have to complain every couple of years to get things fixed outside the house).

Also try a pathping command.

vatsim servinfo used to ping all the servers so you could try to connect to the one with best ping.
