Why can't I see my signature on my posts?

Recommended Posts

I added a signature a few days ago. There cannot be anything wrong with it because others can see it on my posts. but, oddly, i cannot see it myself.

I can see other folk's signatures, just not my own. s there some other option I must select?

Pete

Hi, Pete!  Is this what you are not seeing?  You don't have that circled x clicked, do you?

Yes, that is what others see, but not me.

There is no signature nor an "X" to click. In my view the messages I post end at the + (multiquote)  Quote and Edit line, which here appear on the right below the message, not on the left as in your pic.

So it seems the view I get is different too. Wonder why?

Sorry, that was the only thing I could think of.  Maybe Bob or Jim will see this and be able to help!

Pete--try going into Account Settings -> Signature...there is a button there that gives you the option to hide signatures.  Try turning that off and then back on.

That was ON. I've turned it OFF then ON. Should I see an immediate result, or only on new posts? (I'll check this one after posting ...)

No, still same (and yes, i did Save after each change of that switch).

It isn't terribly important -- now I know that others can see it, which is useful when relevant to my posts. It just seems very odd not being able to see it myself.

Yes, same as I can see others, but I still cannot see mine, so that doesn't realy help, sorry.

I guess you also see the "Heart", "+" and "Quote" buttons on the left at the ends of posts. Here they are always on the right.

I use Chrome as my Browser, have been doing for a long long time. i has all my shortcuts, menus etc in, so I'm not changing. Maybe there's someting about the Forum software used by AVSIM that's messing me about?

[LATER]

Aha! It's to do with my font size, used in the browser. I'm normally using Ctrl+ + to make things bigger so I can read them easier on my high res screen (not quite 4K) without leaning forward and making my back worse.

If I use Ctrl+ - a couple of times to make the fonts etc smaller then my signature appears, and magically those buttons move to the left.

Now why would that be, and only on my own posts? Why do I see other folks signatures even with a magnified view?

Pete
