Seems we are well prepared for this flight.

I volunteer for taking route A.

Routes will be assigned via the Teamspeak positions.

And I'll have one of whatever Roger is taking!

Maybe Route "EH?" too? As a Canadian might say!

So why Do Canadians Say ‘Eh’? You might ask?

Well since most of us have a bit of time on our hands and still have no where we can go (except to say in house to self medicate  with a few Hot Toddys), will tell!

The interjection "eh" — as in “I know, eh?” — is popularly considered to be a marker of Canadian speech. Canadians use eh more frequently than in any other country, and also have the most varied usage of the interjection. While eh has only two main constructions in England (as a request for repetition and to mark a question), there are 10 popular functions of eh in Canada, making it a true Canadianism.

For more information Eh, please refer to the "EH"-word links below:

Have fun eh!

(Oh boy way too much time Eh?- so better get in the home cockpit and fly somewhere!)

(Perhaps Route Bee instead of route eh might be best!)

Dang me if I didn't read all that....stuff eh?

Quote

The other was a volley of linguistic stereotypes about the nation of Canada, involving either “aboot” or “eh.”

I just love aboot. 👍

So what's wrong with how I say ABOOT? Or is it a boat! Or is it about a boat?  I guess this spurns another Canadian linguistics insight:  Most know what Canadians are supposed to sound like: they are a people who pronounce “about” as “aboot” and add “eh” to the ends of sentences!! (but not exactly)

What’s Going On With the Way Canadians Say ‘About’?

It’s not pronounced how you think it is.

image.jpg

Why do Canadians say aboot instead of about?
Canadians do something called 'Canadian Raising', meaning that they pronounce some two-part vowels (known as dipthongs) with a higher part of their mouths than people from other English-speaking regions – this is what causes the 'ou' sounds in words like 'out' and 'about' to be pronounced something like 'oot' and aboot!'

Enough said - If you want to learn more "about" the Canadian accent trying to say about: LINK:

Those those who find reading a bit of a pain, here is a couple of brief video presentations aboot our Canadian accents;

So much about aboot! EH?

Speaking aboot EH - Here's a quick summary:

Hopefully this post might add a little humor to your day while we social distance or quarantine from the physical world.

Ron....
Thanks for the flight! WOWZA - that was fun!
A little difficult including everyone when we're all split up, caught the "A" team - lol, that was about it.
Quick "turn a rounds" also hampered the shutter button.
Caught a few nice ending shots of the group though. If interested, they are here.

Stay Healthy!

What do you mean 'Stay Healthy'? First, you have to BE healthy! I've never been healthy since I was 16 yo!
