Question to QW 787 users

Recommended Posts

I'm considering to purchase it. But a major criterion for me is:

Can I save the flight situation when airborne and reload this situation at another day without any (panel state) flaws?

Honestly, this I do not know. But as it has a "jump ahead" feature, you can finish even longest haul flights easily in 2h time just like any short haul flight.

Yes, not sure it's "without any flaws" but it's certainly recoverable without too much effort.

Yeah, we can reload a saved flight.
Just a few clicks inside the VC after reloading to restore the entire previous situation.

Smaller things like lights, chairs, PFD Screen Settings, Interiour lights have to be set manually after reloading a sqved flight. But FMC Fliggtplan, Fuelload, remaining fuel, waypoints, Alignments all stored and rrloadable. Takes less then 30 sec to do some manually knob settings. For me it is  ok as it is, allthough it would be nice if everything would be saved and could be restored

Thank you captains, that's exactly what I wanted to know ... makes my decision a lot easier.

the jump ahead feature is a pretty neat feature.

In my irrational exuberance having just upgraded from P3D 3.4 to 4.5 for my new PC build, decided I needed another heavy so bought this plane.  It looks pretty good but I'm spoiled by PMDG 777 and I'm wishing I hadn't done this purchase now.  Maybe that will change as I learn about flying the 787 we'll see.

777 is tighter on the systems.  Without question.  However the 787 blows it away in terms of visuals.  I realize PMDG is working on cleaning up the 777 however.

I have seen quite a few comments about the visual appearance of the PMDG 777 when compared to alternative PMDG (and other) planes, and I remain puzzled. It looks every bit as good as anything else that I have on my PC, and that includes the QW787. Maybe I am just not looking hard enough, but the level of detail of the VC in the 777 (which is where I am 99.9% of the time) is excellent, and the textures are crisp and clear at all zoom levels.

Yes Christopher.  In the VC is fine.  It's the outside.  Or even the view of the engines/wing from inside.  Some people like to also look around when at cruise.  Or perhaps take screenshots.  Whatever it may be, there is no denying that the exterior visual quality of the 777 is not up to data.  In fact I suspect that's the reason they have just finished a pbr update and moving it to testing.

Well, it's sold via the Flight1 wrapper, so you have 30 days to change your mind and get your money back.  I've only done it once in many, many F1 purchases, and it was pretty painless.

Thanks for the reminder I did forget to even look into it.  I will check it out and see if it's worth it or not.  I should take those $$ and put them into a small regional jet as I go from Phenom 300 to Q400 to 737NGX to 777.   I really like the 777 it is such a polished craft and performs surprisingly well.  I DO need that RTX3080Ti I can see, or can't, as the case may be, now

Pretty sure it has some flaws with saving the state of certain panel items. What aggravates me is how rarely they release fixes for this. There’s definitely some rough edges still left.
