MSFS2020 will be only 2K in 2020/2021

They've already made it clear that, regarding the scenery, everything (almost everything) in MSFS2020 is rendered locally. The only thing that will be streamed is the photoimagery and photogrammetry from Bing.

I think everything is rendered locally.  The data from the satellite images, aerial images, and photogrammetry is streamed, but then rendered locally.  That way if you fly over the same area, like a return trip, it caches the data and renders the view from a different direction.  I don't think there are any exceptions to qualify a "almost everything".
