RNAV PC-12 and GTN750

Recommended Posts

Could someone please kindly explain to me the correct procedure for a RNAV procedure with the PC12 and using the GTN750?

I'm having issues were the PC-12 will rise to a higher altitude or not descend when it reaches the top of the G/S instead of descending.

I'm setting it up as below:

GTN is set as GPS mode.

Altitude set to FAF altitude.

APP button activated prior to reaching the FAF.

Any ideas were I could be going wrong?

Assuming you have my mods installed... which approach is this?

Is it an LPV approach?

Have you disabled VNAV?

If yes to all the above, you should be flying in NAV mode, ALT hold.

When turned to final and with the glideslope indicators active and above you, press the APR button.

If still problems, send me a screenshot.

Hi Bert yes with your mods. Its been a few approaches in Australia. Namely broome yrbm and essendon Ymen.

How do we disable the vnav and what does that do effectively? So if vnav is disabled you can change gps to nav mode instead for both rnav and ils? Ils works fine.

Flight1 causes the glideslope indicators to activate in VNAV mode which can interfere with an LPV landing approach.. so best to turn it off for these kind of tests..

On the main GTN screen, you can go to Utilities / VNAV to disable it, or , what I do, in the F1GTN ini file for the airplane, add

VNAV GS Needle=0

My favorite test airport to learn to fly RNAV approaches is KTPA Tampa.

RNAV 01L LPV, via PIE.

Try it and fly at 2000 feet all the way.

Please report back!

Bert,

Can confirm adding the line into the *.ini worked. Thank you.

Adding the line enabled the VNAV in utilities to stay active to show TOD etc.

Appreciate the help.

Regards
