Sode process still running

Recommended Posts

I am getting CTD's because of sode process still running but not visible in task manager.  I have a three monitor set-up with two monitors being HDMI connection and the other is a USB connected monitor.  When I am sitting in parking and getting the aircraft ready to taxi and doing the checklists and other steps, I usually undock the ATC window and move it to the USB monitor and have done this for years.  Now when I move it as normal, it results in a CTD.  So I have tried that numerous times and still get the same result.  So I re-started and undocked and moved the window to a HDMI connected monitor and resulted in no CTD.  So after looking at event logs and anything else I can come up with my limited knowledge of doing this kind of investigating, I have found some mention of an execution file called  "Simobject Display Engine.exe".  This is under as follows:

Program files (x86)>12bPilot>sode                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Simobject Animation module.dll                                                                                                                                                                                                              Simobject animation module 64.dll                                                                                                                                                                                                         Simobject display engine.exe                                                                                                                                                                                                                Sode platform manager.exe

I have a notepad co[y of the sode.log that I will try to attach. I notice some mention of Watchdog in the Sode.log.   I built my computer myself and am using FSX  acceleration with SP1 and SP2.  I built this system 4 years ago and have been using it for simulator flying for years w/o any major problems.  I have multiple MegaScenery Earth files and a small number of aircraft add-ons.   I was flying from KAMA to KABQ last Monday and about halfway through the flight my system went to a CTD.  Now in trying to do as I have normally done, the CTD jumps up when I move the undocked ATC window to USB monitor.   One note, I had just downloaded the Piper Meridian aircraft from Carenado and was trying to learn the basics on this flight.  I go to task manager as the error message tells me to do to stop the sode process which is not present in the task manager box.  So at a loss of how to fix my problem.  I would greatly appreciate anyone that is really knowledgable to look at this for me and see if they can point me in the right direction.  I am sure it is a corrupted line entry in the software somewhere.

I just tried it again and got the CTD.  Went to task manager and it posted sode warning right clicked that and the task manager processes log highlighted  sim object display engine.exe.  as the culprit.  Don't know what to do now.  Thanks for any help

This usually happens if P3D has crashed or failed to load correctly, so when you try to start P3D again, two instances of SODE occur. Just restart your PC or use taskmgr to kill all SODE sessions.

WELL, AFTER A FULL DAY OF CONNECTING, DISCONNECTING, DEACTIVATING FILES,RE-ACTIVATING FILES, AND EVERYTHING ELSE I COULD POSSIBLY THINK OF I DISCONNECTED THE USB MONITOR FROM THE COMPUTER FOR A WHILE AND RE-CONNECTED AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW IT WORKED.  HOORAY! SORRY FOR THE POSTS THAT WERE OF NO RELEVANCE TO THE PROBLEM.  DON'T KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED, BUT THANKS FOR A PLACE TO VENT AND GET HELP.

Another follow-up to earlier posts.  After the success, decided to fly the Piper Meridian that I had just purchased from Carenado again and viola the FSX went to CTD when I tried to move some windows to the USB monitor.  So back to square one.  I like to fly with the main screen uncluttered and move windows like ATC, GPS, PFD, MFD to the other two monitors.  I have three monitors and number 2 is main center, number 1 is on left and also connected to graphics card, and number 3 is a USB monitor connected to computer board with an adapter,  Something in the Piper software is giving me fits.  If you have any idea, give me a shout out.  Thanks
