KSAN Scenery: Which one?

Recommended Posts

Wow I just realized there's three different versions of San Diego

LVFR version 1 (which is what I have), they now have a version 2 and Orbx.

Is it worth changing to v2 or Orbx?  Does anyone recommend one over the other?  I see both are on sale (LVFR 16.99 usd and orbx about 12.50 usd)

I do have Orbx SoCal FWIW

I use the ORBX SAN + iniBuilds.com Dynamlic lighting profile. The ORBX DL has terrible performance but iniBuilds makes it a perfect scenery.

I have both and each are fantastic renditions, however I prefer the ORBX version only because of how it blends in with all of my other ORBX products.

I have both and both are great but i settled on the orbx version.  IIRC you get more of the downtown skyline and surrounding scenery with the orbx version.

Interesting video. Thanks, @vbazillio for sharing. 🙂

I cannot judge on the accuracy, but personally I like the ORBX version best (judging from that video).

I used FSDT for several years but now I have been using Orbx version. Orbx KSAN + simwestSOCAL gives me best overall look and performance.

A minority opinion -- I use the LatinVFR v2 version and am very happy with it. Along with Megascenery San Diego UltraRes and MagMexico's Tijuana Photoscenery works great. KSAN is very near the border and the Tijuana PS adds a lot to the area.

I would have been very happy with the LatinVFR version if the ORBX version didn’t exist.  Both are very good, but if buying only one I would still buy orbx, especially if it’s on sale a bit cheaper right now.

While I agree that the OrbX buildings are better detailed, I personally flee that the colors of the aprons are off in the OrbX. Overall, the Orbx rendition strikes me as very 'dark'. The LatinVFR is lighter in its color palette and I prefer that. Also, the performance is truly excellent for me, so I have always stuck with the LatinVFR KSAN.

Please keep one thing in mind: that video is from 2017 and does NOT represent LatinVFR's current version! You really ought to check out the screenshots on their product page: https://latinvfr.com/products/latinvfr-san-diego-v2
