New Purchase X-Plane GNS 530 - No databse at all (resolved)

Recommended Posts

I bought the GNS 530 yesterday. All loaded as per application - no path changes made. Plugin shows up in X-Plane but only roads and terrain showing up. No databse data at all, so not accepting flight plans which show up as option to load in the 530.

C:\Program Files(x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS\db                  is the path to db folder.

db folder contains files BMAP.BIN, terrain.adb, terrain.odb, TERRAIN.TDB, worldwide.bin.

What am I doing wrong or what is the matter?

SOLVED!!!!

Took the  "nav_db2.bin"  from my GTN 750 'db' folder, and copied directly into GNS 'db' folder with no renaming at all.

Bingo!

Works!

I very much doubt that... The GNS is going to be looking for a worldwide.bin file, not a nav_db2 file..

Bad karma Bert!

After data being there for several flights, now back to no data whatsoever, after I messed around testing your advice / theory!! - North America or World totally absent. Even with replicating what I did before!

Tried moving my GTN nav_db2.bin and renaming worldwide.bin

Never had North America, even from vanilla install.

Very grateful for any help you (Bert) or anyone else can offer me......

Anyone else having this proble

There's no rhyme or reason here!

Put back the original db folder, which I had saved in case needed it again (because it did not work) - now everything works.......hmmmm.

Thanks, Bert, for responding and taking time to help. Can now fly from Tacoma Narrows to Duncan to see you for breakfast, without getting lost!
