Very sad to hear this news. As was the case with Avsim founder Tom, I didn't always agree with Jim on everything, but I always admired their commitment to Avsim and respected their opinions and advice, even when they differed with my own. And so I know that whilst Avsim will continue to build on their legacy, it won't quite be the same without them. But they've got a better pair of wings than all of us now.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air…

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew –
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

We knew he was ill, but I always thought there was hope. RIP Jim and condolences to his family & friends.

I was pleasantly surprised when he once messaged me to thank me for supporting a moderating decision he'd made (cannot recall if I liked his comment or upvoted it, no matter!). His knowledge will indeed be missed.

Oh, no. Just logged in to check the daily news.

Am absolutely devastated with such sad, sad news. He and i exchanged many a PM on his beloved Corvette and love of golf, specially when the Masters was on.

A great, great loss to the Community and Avsim.

Deepest Condolences to his Family. May he R.I.P.

Jim, He will most gladly welcome you in the skies above.

Such sad news. He was always the voice of common sense, and so helpful to so many over the years.

what? It´s hard to believe what i´ve read... It´s just 2 weeks ago when Jim reacted very positive on a thread i´ve started and honestly at that moment i was a little bit proud about it. 🙂

I´ve never met Jim in personal, but i guess he was a very good person, a beloved Dad, husband, and Grandpa. For sure he was someone who will be missed a lot by others and us.

He was one of us - Flightsimmer!

RIP Jim 😪
